The 2023 Women's World Tour around Chongming Island will be held from October 12 to 14, and according to the 2023 calendar announced by the International Self-Union, the Women's World Tour around Chongming Island is still the only women's World Tour multi-day event in China and the qualification event for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Since the launch of the event, several World Tour teams from all over the world have applied to participate. According to the team level and competition level, the organizing committee finally selected 18 teams from all over the world to participate, all of which are the top teams in the world, including 7 women's World Tour teams, 9 women's continental teams, as well as the Chinese national team and Hong Kong team, with a total of 108 participants. The fleet comes from 13 countries and regions, covering Europe, America, Oceania and Asia.

In terms of route information, the total number of kilometers in the three days of the race was 349.8 kilometers. According to the schedule, the first stage (Chongxi stage) will be held on the 12th, starting from Xincheng Park, passing through Lotus Expo Park and Pearl Lake Park, the whole distance is 108.9 kilometers; on the 13th, the second stage (Chongdong stage) will be held, and the runners will start from Changxing Island Country Park, pass through the magnificent Yangtze River Bridge, Dongtan Avenue, Shanghai Chongming Sports Training Base and then return to Xincheng Park. The whole course is 128.6 kilometers, and the third stage (Chongzhong stage and city circle race) will be held on the 14th, the race route starts from Xincheng Park around Chongming Avenue into Xinhe Town to ride, and then returns to the urban area for a circle, the whole distance is 112.3 kilometers. Like the townships involved in previous years, except for Hengsha Township, the track route covers the main roads of Chongming's 17 townships and the Yangtze River Bridge, covering almost all of the island. During the competition, the contestants were able to deeply experience the charm of a world-class eco-island.

Chongming from the National Road Cycling Classic in 2003 to the current Women's World Tour after 20 years of development, has achieved from scratch, from good to good, from good to internationally recognized height, and cycling has also become Chongming's unique green business card. This event is the largest and longest international competition held in the history of Chongming, which is also a huge test in transportation, safety, security, medical treatment, catering and other aspects. It is worth mentioning that during the 2023 Tour of Chongming Island Women's World Tour, the organizing committee continued to plan and launch the Bicycle Carnival, which is also the perennial bicycle characteristic culture of the Chongming Cycling Race. The theme of this year's Bicycle Carnival is "Riding Meets Beautiful, Leisurely Chongming", and there are exhibition areas such as Cycling Culture Square, Theme Exhibition Area, Riding Meets Food Area, Riding Encounters Good Things Area, and Youzai Camp Area. There is also a series of activities such as "Watching Events, Visiting Chongming", which combines Chongming cultural tourism resources with bicycle events to launch themed exhibitions (antique bicycle culture exhibition, bicycle art installation exhibition), popular interaction and other activities for citizens and tourists, so as to increase the popularity of carnivals and events and bring passenger flow to cultural tourism enterprises.
