Bingxin enjoyed a great name early, Liang Shiqiu was jealous, Ba Jin was infatuated, and her affection made Xu Zhimo sincerely fearful

Lao Qin wrote "Why did Lin Hui touch the anger of the crowd?" yesterday? He was successively scolded by Bingxin, Lu Xun, Qian Zhongshu and others, which mentioned that Bingxin was very unaccustomed to the unspeakable and unclear feelings between Xu Zhimo and Lin Huiyin, and wrote a new poem entitled "I Advise You" in 1931 and published it in "Beidou" edited by Ding Ling, admonishing Lin Huiyin as a "comer". She was also jokingly called "godmother" by Shen Congwen. After Xu Zhimo read the poem "I Advise You", he was silent. He is 4 years older than Bingxin, but he knows that he is not good, and he goes to Bingxin with sincere fear, saying that he is "going to your holy place to repent". Lin Huiyin did not react to the poem "I Advise You". After Xu Zhimo's death, Bing was indignant and blamed Xu Zhimo's death on "the bad things of women made him sacrifice". Later, he also wrote the famous "Mrs. 's Living Room" to satirize Lin Huiyin.

Judging from this series of events, Bingxin's status in the literary world is still very "dragged".

Why is she so "dragged"?

First, talent is sufficient; Second, fame early.

On May 4, 1919, the patriotic movement broke out in Beijing, and Bingxinshi was a first-year student of the preparatory department of physics and chemistry at Peking Union Women's University, she actively participated in the movement, and was elected as a clerk of the student union during the event, participated in the publicity unit of the Federation of Women's Scholars, and served as a literary propaganda work. In order to suppress the students, the warlord government arrested a number of patriotic students in July of that year and opened their trials in August. Bingxin participated in the audit as a member of the publicity unit of the Women's Academic Association, and after observing the hearing, according to the requirements of the publicity, wrote the article "Impressions of the 21st Hearing".

Bingxin had a cousin named Liu Fangyuan, who worked as an editor in the "Morning Post", and in order to strengthen the publicity, Bingxin handed him "Reflections on the Hearing on the 21st" and asked him to publish it in the "Morning Post".

"Reflections on the 21st Hearing" was finally published on the seventh page of the Beijing Morning Post on August 25, 1919, signed as "Female student Xie Wanying submitted."

Liu Fangyuan felt that her cousin's writing was very good, so he encouraged her to develop into writing, promising to provide her with a publishing space for her works.

Bing Xin gladly ordered to write and wrote the novel "Two Families".

Liu Fangyuan did not break his word, and from September 18, 1919, he serialized this novel in the "Morning Post".

Since Bingxin is determined to break into the road of the literary world, it is necessary for her to think of a pen name for herself.

She looked at the "Ying" of her name "Xie Wanying" and thought of the word "ice".

From the word "ice", I thought of the Tang poet Wang Changling's poem "A piece of ice heart in a jade kettle", so he wrote the word "ice heart" by hand.

Liu Fangyuan felt that "Bingxin" was a neutral name, and in order to make Bingxin's works more sold, he added the word "lady" after "Bingxin".

"Ms. Bingxin"'s "Two Families" soon attracted the attention of the society, and Bingxin was also out of control, and successively wrote "Si Ren Du Haggard", "Autumn Rain and Autumn Wind Sorrowful", "Going to China" and "Zhuang Hong's Sister", all serialized in the supplement of "Morning Post".

Her works are not only freshly written, but also enduring, and the questions raised in them about "new virtuous wife and good motherhood", family problems, career problems, and student movements are thought-provoking.

More and more people are engaged in studying the questions she raises.

These novels of hers are called "problem novels".

Just one week after Bingxin's "Si Ren Du Haggard" was published, the "Iron Column" of the "National Gazette" had a hot comment on the novel.

The student group also put "Si Ren Du Haggard" on the stage of the Xinming Theater in Beijing.

Also a week after the publication of "Go to Country", the "Morning Post" had to devote a huge amount of space from seven to eight pages to publish letters from readers commenting on the novel.

Needless to say, the name of "Ms. Bingxin" has resounded all over the literary world.

In early 1920, Mao Dun presided over the editorial work of the "New Wave Column of Novels" of the "Novel Monthly". In November of the same year, he officially took over the compilation of "Novel Monthly", and then initiated the organization of the "Literary Research Association" with Zheng Zhenduo and others, and actively invited Bingxin to participate in it.

Bing Xin therefore shifted her novel publishing position to "Novel Monthly" and published masterpieces such as "Superman" and "Boredom".

When "Superman" was published, the great writer Mao Dun annotated under the name "Dongfen", saying that after reading the novel, "I couldn't help crying".

Due to the influence of Tagore's "Birds", Bingxin wrote a large number of prose and poems during this period, which were still published in the "Morning Post Supplement" and were sought after by readers.

These poems of her were later collected and published in two books: "Stars" and "Spring Water".

Because of the great influence of "Stars" and "Spring Water", Zhou Zuoren once opened a class in the Yanda Girls' School to give explanations.

Of course, Zhou Zuoren at that time did not know that "Ms. Bingxin" was his female student Xie Wanying, who was listening to the class below.

In the literary circle, this free-form poem written by Bingxin is called "spring water body".

Ba Jin, who is 4 years younger than Bingxin, is the younger fan brother of "Ms. Bingxin", and after becoming famous, he once wrote about competing with his brother to read Bingxin's works when he was young, confessing that his brother "got a lot of warmth and comfort" from Bingxin's works, and still "remembers the scene of our brothers looking up from books and smiling".

However, some people disagree with Bingxin's work.

This person is Liang Shiqiu.

Liang Shiqiu's talent is naturally there.

But his strength is small and his heart is proud.

Lao Qin wrote a few years ago "Some people dissatisfied with Lu Xun's hegemony in the literary world, fought to challenge, and ended badly", "Liang Shiqiu has a poetic talent, and regards Hu Shi as a teacher, but after reading Hu Shi's "Attempt Collection", he was angry", "This person is not afraid of tigers at birth, and he has not achieved academic achievements to pick strong Liang, the first battle is Zhou Zuoren, the second battle is Wu Zhihui", "Liang Shiqiu's eyes are empty, and he once criticized Bingxin's poems for being difficult to enter the lobby, and he did not intend to meet Bingxin at sea" "Lu Xun died of illness, Liang Shiqiu's crazy "solitary defeat" style of strange theory attracted a siege, and finally went to Taiwan in a hurry" and a series of other articles, written about him empty-eyed, "touching magnets" everywhere, provoking everywhere, wanting to elevate himself by arguing with celebrities.

He was angry at Bingxin's success and devalued "Stars" and "Spring Water", saying that "this genre, in the poetry garden, can not be elegance."

However, with the success of "Stars" and "Spring Water", Bingxin won the Golden Key Award of the "Fitofi Honorary Society" in 1923, and won a scholarship from the University of Wellesley Research Institute, a sister school of Yenching University, to study in the United States.

And Lao Qin also mentioned in the article "Liang Shiqiu's eyes are empty, and he once criticized Bingxin's poems for being difficult to enter the lobby, not intending to meet Bingxin at sea", also in 1923, Liang Shiqiu obtained the qualification to study in the United States, and met Bingxin unexpectedly on the "Jackson" bound for Seattle, USA.

He used to make a big fuss, saying that Bingxin's imagination is weak, his rhyme technique is clumsy, and his emotions are thin, but after being taken care of by Bingxin, he immediately came to a 180-degree change, praising Bingxin's "superb mind, keen feelings, and delicate temperament, which are beyond the reach of ordinary people."

It can be seen that Liang Shiqiu's character, but Erer.

Before going to the United States, Bingxin suggested that the "Morning Post Supplement" set up a "Children's World" column. Then, during his stay in the United States, he continued to write a series of newsletter essays on "Send Little Readers" and sent them back to the "Children's World" column.

This series of essays earned her the name of "Ice Heart Body".

With all this, we can see the brilliance of Bingxin's achievements.

After returning to China, Bingxin first taught at Yenching University, and later transferred to Tsinghua University and Women's Normal University as a part-time professor.

The famous master of Chinese studies, Ji Xianlin, was a student of Tsinghua University and once went to listen to Bingxin's class, but when he saw Bingxin's "solemn face and no smile", he couldn't help but be afraid in his heart, and when he saw Bingxin ordering that "those who do not take this course are not allowed to come back in the next class", he was even more shocked to listen to it, retreated, and stayed away from then on, not daring to enter the classroom where she lectured again.

Xu Zhimo was 4 years older than Bingxin, and his fame at the time of his debut was far less than Bingxin, and after he succeeded Sun Fuyuan as the editor-in-chief of the "Morning Post Supplement" in January 1925, he dealt with Bingxin many times, asked Bingxin to write articles, humble and courteous.

Because he had too many scandals, Bingxin identified him as a "scumbag" and never pretended to treat him.

On December 10, 1928, the monthly magazine "New Moon" published Xu Zhimo's new poem "Farewell to Kangqiao" for the first time, which received rave reviews, and Bingxin was also impressed by Xu Zhimo.

On December 13, Xu Zhimo went to visit his friends Luo Jialun and Zhang Pengchun, and met Bingxin on the way.

Bingxin changed his normal attitude, took the initiative to greet Xu Zhimo, and asked long and short questions, showing great affection.

Xu Zhimo was surprised, sincerely afraid, and uncomfortable.

To this end, he wrote to his wife Lu Xiaoman in Shanghai at that time, and said with great emotion: "Passing by Yanjing at night, seeing Ms. Bingxin, I did not give up, and my voice was 'Shima', which was quite cold and proud than before. ”
