Sun Tao, male, born in July 1964, adult in Rong, Shandong, manager of Haoyunjiao Power Supply Institute of State Grid Rongcheng Power Supply Company. In 1998, Sun Tao first landed on Jiming Island to repair diesel generators for local residents, and when he learned that the electricity of island residents was inconvenient, Sun Tao made a decision without hesitation: I am the descendant of island residents, and I will manage the electricity on the island! From thirty to nearly a year, Sun Tao has adhered to it for 24 years. The transportation on the island is inconvenient, he took the initiative to become a "takeaway brother", built his own "Rainbow Bridge Station", purchased more than 300,000 items, paid more than 10,000 yuan for the elderly on the island for electricity, and became an indispensable "lamp holder" in the minds of the people on the island.
Jiming Island, is the only inhabited island in Rongcheng City, the island relies on a wind turbine and a diesel generator for power supply, due to the strong sea wind, insufficient power, power outages occur from time to time, greatly affecting the life of island residents.
One stormy night in 1998, the diesel generator suddenly failed, and the entire island was instantly plunged into darkness. Just when everyone was at a loss, a voice came: "My nephew is an electrician, I asked him if he could come and help us repair it." After receiving the call, Sun Tao rushed to the dock without hesitation, sat on a small sampan, and staggered towards Jiming Island. On the island, Sun Tao endured the dizziness and nausea caused by seasickness, rushed to the fault without stopping, and half an hour later, the island returned to light.
After questioning his cousin, Sun Tao learned about the current situation of electricity difficulties in Jiming Island. Looking at the sea, Sun Tao made a decision that he never regretted: My grandfather used to be a citizen of Jiming Island, and I am also a descendant of Jiming Island, and I will take care of the electricity here in the future!
Promises must be kept. Since then, Sun Tao has taken a boat to Jiming Island whenever he has time to rest, repair the generator, and go door-to-door for inspection, which has lasted for six years.
In 2004, the State Grid Rongcheng Power Supply Company decided to let the island use "Changming electricity", so it invested in laying 3,000 meters of submarine cable to Jiming Island, but who was responsible for the island's electricity management became a problem. In the eyes of outsiders, this backward island without even running water, entering and exiting a simple sampan boat, and rushing to the island for repair in bad weather is undoubtedly a trip to the "ghost gate". At this time, Sun Tao stood up and said: "6 years ago, I promised the uncles and aunts on the island, I will take care of their electricity, if the leader is at ease, this errand will be handed over to me!" ”
On the day that the submarine cable led to the island, Sun Tao jumped into the sea like a warrior, carrying a thick cable of 28 kilograms per meter, step by step, and the islanders saw this situation and jumped into the sea to join the team of towing the cable, and the fisherman's trumpet sounded all over the island. At this point, relying on diesel engines to generate electricity has become a thing of the past, and the island has ushered in a new light.
Due to the unique climatic factors of the island, frequent wind and rain and sea fog erosion will cause damage to the meter box and be prone to short circuits. More than 90% of the island's more than 100 residents are elderly, and their awareness of safe electricity use is weak, and danger can occur if they are not careful.
"Whether it's windy or rainy, cold or snowy, we can see Master Sun going door to door to check the transformers and leads, and we are very relieved to have him on the island." In 2013, Hunan Satellite TV's "Where Did Dad Go" was filmed on this small island, which led to the development of tourism on Jiming Island. With the increase in tourists, electricity consumption has increased dramatically, but also brought new demand.
"Master Sun, next time go to the island to help bring the needle!" "When will melons be sold, help bring one." Due to the inconvenience of entering and exiting the island, everyone can only purchase items by taking a boat to the sea, which is a great problem for the elderly with inconvenient legs and feet. In order to better serve the residents of the island, Sun Tao built the Rainbow Bridge Station on Jiming Island. "In the early days of the post station, it was concentrated to help everyone purchase once a month, and later, as everyone's demand increased, I couldn't take care of it alone, so I asked the barefoot doctor Sun Da Ge in the village to serve as the liaison officer of the post station, collecting the electricity and production and living needs of the people every day, and before I went to the island, I would purchase it according to the list and bring it to the island!" In order to buy high-quality and inexpensive items, Sun Tao often shop around and pick things that are loved by the people. After the post station was put into operation, Sun Tao mobilized 11 members of the Rainbow Communist Party Member Service Team of the Good Luck Point Power Supply Station, and in his spare time, he would form a team to carry out volunteer service activities on Jiming Island, and the red vest and blue hat became a beautiful scenery on the island. Today, 1141.8 hours of volunteer service have been carried out.
In 2009, Sun Tao was 55 years old, considering his physical condition, the leader was ready to arrange other colleagues to take over the power supply work of Jiming Island, but Sun Tao politely refused, he said: "This job has long become a responsibility, I want to keep doing it!" ”
From seasickness to riding the wind and waves, from not knowing each other to being close to each other, in 24 years, with only one promise, Sun Tao has dedicated half of his life to Jiming Island and the people of Jiming Island. In 2017, Jiming Island launched a large-scale demolition work, and some villagers were unwilling to demolish it, so Sun Tao and Bao village cadres went to the island together, visited homes and explained policies. After the demolition work began, Sun Tao called the members of the Rainbow Communist Party member service team, and everyone scientifically formulated a plan for cutting and restoring the line after the illegal demolition, and successfully completed the weak current "up and down" project. Some people often say that you are just an electrician, just do your job, why bother with other things? Even his daughter advised him to retire early and live in Beijing, but Sun Tao said: "Power supply service is only a job duty, serving the people is the whole content, the island is my home, I don't worry if I don't guard it." ”
