As one of the special activities of "National Science Popularization Day" in 2023, on the afternoon of September 21, the "Cute Beast Giant Panda" science popularization theme exhibition jointly hosted by Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and CSSC Real Estate Co., Ltd. was unveiled at Shangyuewan Plaza in Lujiazui Riverside Financial City, opening an immersive "cute" journey for the general public, which will last until October 15.
The exhibition is divided into four sections: "evolution", "ecology", "protection" and "culture", through hand-drawn, 1:1 models, mechanical and multimedia interactive exhibition items, sand table, maze, animation, popular science games and other vivid and interesting display methods, comprehensively display the classification and evolution, behavior form, ecological environment, companion animals, conservation and protection, cultural history, etc. of the mainland national treasure giant panda, and stimulate the public's emotional resonance and awareness of action to protect giant pandas and their living environment.
"This is the original exhibition developed by our science and technology museum team, and more than 20 interactive exhibits have been designed, hoping that big friends and children can better understand the survival of giant pandas in the interactive experience." Hu Xidan, deputy director of the Exhibition and Education Center of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and curator of the "cute beast giant panda" science popularization exhibition, said.
During the tour, the audience can observe the difference between giant pandas, black bears and red pandas through skeletal puzzles; Experience first-hand how much bamboo and bamboo shoots a giant panda needs to eat in a day, and how much poop it excretes through seesaws; Use LEGO bricks to take a color photo of the giant panda and its companions; Mechanical interactive devices are used to simulate the production of pot milk and measure the intestines of giant pandas.
In addition, the "Panda Parkour" game allows the audience to learn about the living environment and companion animals of giant pandas in the game; The maze of large-scale immersive interactive exhibition "Panda Corridor" allows children of all ages to understand the important role and significance of "Panda Corridor" to the protection of giant pandas. The rich and interesting exhibition format attracted many citizens to take photos and interact with the lifelike models and installations of giant pandas and their companion animals.
