He pursued the "strategic policy of accelerating the country's socio-economic development", vigorously developed heavy industry, and vowed to double national income and gross industrial production in 15 years. However, this practice has led to a thinning economy and a boiling backlash. Gorbachev pushed the USSR into the abyss.
Yeltsin was one of Gorbachev's double traitors in betraying the Soviet Union. When Gorbachev dismissed him from political office, Yeltsin decided to fight back and succeeded in bringing the Soviet Union to disintegration. He expanded his power by absorbing the two forces of the economic bureaucracy and the Russian nationalists. Yeltsin betrayed the Soviet Union and separated Russia from Russia, realizing his personal ambitions for power.
Although Yeltsin betrayed the Soviet Union more successfully than Gorbachev, Gorbachev's betrayal was the initiator of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
