Pool fishing

Two days and 7 competitions to determine the "all-round king"

At 8 o'clock on September 17, the pool fishing project took the lead in the competition, with 168 participants.

There are 4 competitions, including the 3.6m hand rod fishing crucian carp tail number competition, the 4.5m hand rod fishing target fish tail number and weight double point race (valid fish is crucian carp), 5.4m hand rod fishing 5 large mixed fish weight race (effective fish are crucian carp, carp and grass carp) and 5.4m hand rod fishing mixed fish weight race (valid fish are crucian carp, carp and grass carp).

During the two-day competition, the first match day was the preliminary round, and all players participated in four events with a duration of 70 minutes each, ranked according to the total points of the four races, and the top 80 athletes entered the semi-final. The semi-finals were contested only in two competitions, with the athletes deciding the top 50 in the 4.5-meter hand-rod fishing target tail and weight double points competition and the 5.4-meter hand-rod fishing 5-tail mixed fish weight competition. Among them, the 4th to 50th place is the final result, and the top 3 athletes in the rematch advance to the final.

In the final stage, the competition was a 5.4m hand rod fishing mixed fish weight competition, which was divided into three sections, each session lasted 30 minutes, and the champion, runner-up and third place were determined according to the total weight of the fish won in the three sections. In the end, Guangdong's Zhang Wei won the championship with a total weight of 15.15 kg, Sichuan's Zhang Ju was the runner-up with 13.65 kg, and Zhejiang's Zhang Xing was the third place with 11.1 kg.

In this final, the champion Zhang Wei won the honorary title of "All-round King" from 2021 to 2023, and was directly rated as a third-level fishing master (not limited by points). The top 50 athletes in the overall score will receive the athlete level points of the first class event of the China Fishing Sports Association.

Garage fishing

The rainy weather brought challenges to the race

At 10 o'clock on September 17, the 12th Shengzhonghu Fishing Competition opened at the same time, and according to the competition method, only fish that reach 30 cm and above are valid fish.

Non-stop matches are a highlight of the event, and each team of 4 players is required to keep at least two fishing positions during the competition. In fact, most of the time every fishing position is kept full, and everyone has their own responsibility.

On the evening of the 17th, due to weather and safety reasons, the organizing committee suspended the competition. The game resumed at 9 o'clock on the 18th, and the entire game was not postponed, and the end time was still 10 o'clock on the 20th.

Harvesting, changing bait, throwing rods, and nesting, this has become a standard action in the 72-hour race time, day or night, and has high requirements for the physical fitness and technique of the players.

At 13 o'clock on the 18th, the athletes who had just eaten lunch were busy, Qi Yong and Song Long, athletes from the three teams of bear claws at the No. 18 fishing position in the first district, were busy changing bait, Zhang Jing on the side was preparing bait, and Niu Jianming was throwing rods and making nests. Niu Jianming told the Beijing News reporter that after the bait is in place, the bait will dissolve under the action of water, and the bait must be replaced in time.

Yang Xuefeng, a player from Hubei Danjiangkou Tianhai Club, who is divided into the second district, said, "This area has won championships before, but the fishing position has no advantage, the water depth is about 35 meters, and the competition can only be used to throw rods to make nests, which is farther and more accurate, but the technical requirements are relatively high." On the first day, the race was suspended due to weather conditions, which was when the fish were served, and when the second day started, the fish situation changed again, which had a big impact on the competition. ”

After 72 hours of competition (note: due to weather conditions, the competition time has been "reduced"), each team selects the 20 most effective fish weighing them in turn. In the end, Hubei Danjiangkou Tianhai Club team won the championship, Shanxi Kuyu Silver Bighead Ota team won the runner-up, Sichuan Longquan Aerospace Team won the third place, the top 40 athletes shared 425,000 yuan in prize money, and the participating athletes received corresponding points according to CAA (China Fishing Sports Association) second-class events.

Boat fishing

Competing with foreign players, Chinese athletes have grown rapidly

From September 18th to 19th, the 2023 China Shengzhonghu International Boat Fishing Competition and the 2020-2023 China Boat Fishing Open Championship Finals will be held, and the participating athletes will compete in a single unpowered kayak, one event per day, each 6 hours. According to the requirements of the competition, athletes can submit up to 6 valid fish with a body length of at least 20 cm during the fishing time, and the total length will be measured as the day's results. The total score is ranked according to the total length of the two races with no more than 12 fish, and the total length of the target fish catch submitted is calculated according to the actual number of fish submitted.

The competition attracted 84 elite boat fishing lua athletes from 21 countries to compete in fishing skills. Among them, 20 foreign team players were specially invited by CAA, and 64 players from the Chinese team advanced from the 2020-2023 China Boat Fishing Open. It is worth noting that this is also the event with the most foreign players.

In the process of competing with foreign players, Chinese athletes have also grown rapidly.

In 2013, China introduced the Kayak boat fishing project for the first time, and invited European and American Kayak boat fishing experts to come to Shengzhong Lake for exchanges. After 10 years of competing with foreign masters and learning from each other, Chinese athletes have achieved good results. Ma Xiaohong, who won the Shengzhonghu International Boat Fishing Championship, won the World Boat Fishing Championship, and Huang Jian won the third place in the 7th World Boat Fishing Championship.

In this event, Chinese athletes performed well, with Sichuan's Li Fudong, Zhejiang's Ma Xiaolei and Henan's Yang Bo winning the first and second runners-up, and Xinjiang's Yue Bao winning the biggest single-tail award.
