Hazelnut forests full of fruits, smiling faces full of joy, hazel farmers busy picking, busy transport trucks, and "golden beans" covering drying grounds... In Ankou Town, Liuhe County, a provincial demonstration town of hazelnut characteristic industry, hazelnuts have ushered in another gratifying harvest season.
The cooperative's hazelnut harvest began on August 25, and after drying, selecting, and packing the hazelnuts, they were transported to cold storage for storage and ready to be sold. At present, about 25,000 catties of hazelnuts can be picked every day, and the harvest will last until September 15.
This year, the cooperative has planted 3,670 mu of hazelnuts, and the output of hazelnuts has increased by 20% compared with last year, reaching more than 400,000 jin, which not only drives farmers to increase income, but also allows nearby villagers to work nearby through more than 900,000 yuan a year.
In recent years, in order to help the development of the town's hazelnut industry, Ankou Town organizes and carries out hazelnut planting technology training courses every year, invites hazelnut industry experts to give lectures, and conducts training and explanations on hazelnut variety selection, planting technology, field management, scientific pest control and other related knowledge.
This year, Ankou Town also actively strives for project funds of 1.2 million yuan to implement the hazelnut deep processing project, which can produce and process hazelnut kernels, hazelnut sugar and other products after being put into operation, and extend the hazelnut industry chain.
Today, the hazelnut planting area in Ankou Town has reached 28,000 mu, including 31 planting bases of more than 200 mu, and more than 1,200 hazelnut growers, and this year, the output of hazelnuts in the town will reach more than 3 million jin.
