Seated in the first row were Xu Xianming, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and vice chairman of the Supervision and Judicial Committee of the National People's Congress, who served as president of Shandong University; Li Qun, a 79th alumnus of the Department of Physics of Shandong University, vice minister of culture and tourism, and director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage; Wang Shujian, a 78th alumnus of the Department of Electronics of Shandong Institute of Technology (later merged into Shandong University) and executive vice governor of Shandong; Xue Qikun, an alumnus of the 80th class of the Laser Major of the Department of Optics of Shandong University and president of the Southern University of Science and Technology.
Among them, Li Qun and Wang Shujian both worked in Qingdao. It was during Li Qun's tenure as secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee that he brought Shanda back to Qingdao.
