Preface

Li Yanzhong can enter a machine tool, which is my life's pride

On July 25th, Hedong District Rong Media Center opened the column "Oral One Machine Tool: A Factory A Piece of History", inviting an old employee to tell his exclusive memory of a machine tool in each issue. In the fourth issue, we invited Lin Hanyuan, the former chief engineer of Tianjin First Machine Tool General Factory, to listen to him talk about how he has gone from engineer to chief engineer along the way in the past 38 years.

Lin Hanyuan: From engineer to chief engineer, he took 38 years

Lin Hanyuan, 85 years old, entered the factory in 1962 and served as the chief engineer of Tianjin First Machine Tool General Factory. He retired in 2000.

When the reporter saw Lin Hanyuan, he was wearing reading glasses and holding the publicity brochure of the urban renewal project of Tianjin No. 1 Machine Tool General Factory and surrounding areas. Looking at the old factory in the past, Lin Hanyuan had mixed feelings in his heart. From entering the factory in 1962 to retiring in 2000, from engineer to chief engineer, a word change, this way, he walked for 38 years.

Go deep into the workshop to achieve leapfrog growth

Lin Hanyuan, a native of Shantou, Guangdong, was admitted to the mechanical department of Tianjin University at the age of 19, and after graduation, he was assigned to a machine tool and worked as a technician in the gear technology group of the technology department, engaged in bevel gears. It can be said that being able to be admitted to college in that era was the first turning point in Lin Hanyuan's life. Entering a machine tool became the second turning point in his life. Due to his hard work, diligent study and initiative, he changed his role from student to engineer in a short period of time, and officially became an engineer in the second year of coming to the factory.

When he first entered the factory, he spent almost every day in the workshop, eating and living in the factory, and mingling with the workshop workers. He especially cherished his time with the workers. Lin Hanyuan believes that engineers must go deep into the workshop and learn technology from workers in order to grow quickly. Only by going deep into the workshop can we find the problems of workers in actual operation at the first time. "I had to learn how to do it, not only to know why it was and why. Thanks to those years in the workshop, I learned a lot from the workers. Lin Hanyuan said. In order to turn the design drawings into process drawings and let the workers better understand, he stayed in the workshop for more than ten hours, "because we must first find the problem to solve the problem, and we can only better find the problem inside." ”

Unforgettable experience Fill the gap in the country

Lin Hanyuan still remembers the surveying and mapping imitation of the arc tooth bevel gear grinding machine he participated in in 1976, which was the most complex and high-end machine and equipment in this industry in his life. "At that time, our factory did not have an arc tooth bevel gear grinding machine, and it cost more than 500,000 yuan to import a similar equipment, in order to make up for the gap in this regard, we undertook this work with a machine tool." Speaking of this history, Lin Hanyuan still can't suppress his inner excitement. "At that time, the machine had more than 3,000 parts disassembled, and the difficulty of the mapping work could be imagined." At that time, he was the leader of the surveying and mapping leadership group, responsible for organizing and coordinating the work, and it can be said that in those years, he and his team members would spend every day in the workshop to study and refine.

The hard work pays off. After 8 years, a machine tool finally has its own arc bevel gear grinding machine. It can be said that the birth of this Y20801 arc bevel gear grinding machine that meets the needs of aerospace gear processing makes up for the country's gap in not having high-precision processing gears, and is also the first primrose of a machine tool dedicated to reform and opening up. Also because of the birth of this gear grinding machine, the economic benefits of the factory have increased by more than ten times. "China finally has its own arc tooth bevel gear grinding machine, and the gear grinding machine of that year is still in use today." When Lin Hanyuan said this, it was difficult to hide the pride in his heart.

Teaching and educating people hopes to pass on the spirit of a machine tool

Along the way, Lin Hanyuan has an indissoluble relationship with machine tools, and it can be said that he has dealt with machine tools for a lifetime. Until 1990, he officially became the chief engineer of the main plant.

Even after retiring, he still did not leave the machine tool industry, and has been teaching at the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University with masters and doctoral students until he really retired at the age of 80. There are 35 master's and doctoral students brought out by him, and many of them have returned to work in the new Tianjin No. 1 Machine Tool General Factory. "I grew up in a machine tool, and this factory trained me, and I hope to pass on the knowledge I learned in a machine tool to the next generation, hoping to pass on this spirit of a machine tool." Lin Hanyuan told reporters.
