Today, the Russian-Ukrainian war is still the focus of global attention, this war has lasted for more than a year, some people believe that although this war is not over, Russia is already the victor of this war, but on September 6, the US Department of Defense issued an announcement that the United States will provide Ukraine with additional relief worth $175 million, including poor bullets fired by tanks.
On September 7, CCTV news client quoted the Network Silk Satellite News Agency as reporting that the Russian Embassy in the United States once again stressed that the United States' decision to provide poor ammunition to Ukraine is inhumane and will cost future generations a heavy price.
So with the poor aid of the United States, what will be the turn of the Russian-Ukrainian war? What is a poor axle bomb?
1. Poor axle bullets
"Toxic substances in poor shafts and common explosives can cause skin irritation, kidney failure, and an increased risk of cancer," UNEP said in a 2022 report.
Poor shaft bullet is containing shaft 238 cemented carbide as the main raw material made of shells and gun shells, the main principle of action and ordinary armor-piercing bullets are the same, is the use of poor shaft alloy high hardness, high specific gravity and high melting point rely on kinetic energy to penetrate the target, his biggest use is to destroy tanks and other armored targets.
Shaft 238 contained in it is a radioactive metal, while shaft 238 is used for the production of nuclear weapons and as fuel for nuclear reactors, according to an August 1943 report by the Manhattan Project study team in the United States, "ammunition made from poor shaft bombs and shaft 238 waste can contaminate enemy land and weaken the enemy's war potential."
Poor shaft bomb is not only radioactive, shaft steam is also toxic, shaft various isotopes are also radioactive, although the radioactivity of poor shaft bomb is only 60% of the natural shaft, but its radioactive nature has not been reduced, not only will cause harm to the human body, but also cause major pollution to the environment.
In addition to radioactivity, the armor-piercing ability of the poor shaft bullet is also very strong, and the density of the poor shaft itself is large, so the mass of the pointed out projectile is high, and the penetration of the projectile is proportional to the square root of the mass of the projectile, so the armor-piercing ability of the poor shaft bullet is very strong.
For tungsten alloy armor-piercing bullets, there is a difference in that the warhead of the poor shaft bullet will continue to sharpen during the armor-piercing process, but tungsten alloy armor-piercing bullets will not, which further increases the armor-piercing ability of the poor shaft bullets.
Some environmental experts say that the powder formed when the detonation of a lean bullet is inhaled by humans and animals can cause serious harm to the body, especially in the developing stage.
If the shaft bullet hits the armor, part of the shaft and plutonium contained in the warhead will be planned to form a power to disperse into the air, as the respiratory tract enters the lungs of the human body, the plutonium is 200,000 times more radioactive than the shaft, and the chemical toxicity is 1 million times stronger than the shaft, even a trace amount calculated in milligrams will endanger human health, resulting in lung cancer or bone cancer.
In the 1991 Gulf War, the US military used a large number of poor shaft bombs on the Persian Gulf, causing serious axial pollution in the Persian Gulf region, and after the Gulf War, Basra and other areas in southern Iraq, the radiation intensity increased suddenly, causing a sharp increase in blood diseases and cancer patients, and the cancer mortality rate was ten times higher than before the war.
The Kosovo War, which began in 1992, also caused a lot of contaminated areas, and it was reported in 2000 that among the European soldiers who participated in the Kosovo War, Italian, Belgian, and Spanish soldiers did not escape the threat of cancer.
Second, the United States provides aid to Ukraine
On September 6, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a surprise visit to Ukraine and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which Blinken announced that the United States would provide more than $1 billion in additional aid to Ukraine, and on the same day, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that the United States would provide Ukraine with degraded armor-piercing ammunition for the first time.
On March 21 this year, according to Reuters, British Deputy Defense Secretary Annabelle Goldie said on the 20th that Britain would provide Ukraine with poor ammunition, but they were widely opposed internationally.
According to a report by Russian satellite communication on the 22nd, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova said that the British did not understand the consequences of using poor bullets, and stressed that the UK completely confused the international community in the name of working for the well-being of the Ukrainian people.
Because in the past few decades, the United States has used this kind of poor shaft armor-piercing bombs in Southeast Asia, the Balkans, the Middle East and Afghanistan, and to this day those unexploded munitions are still endangering the lives of local people, which shows that the future Ukrainian people will face land contaminated by radioactive dust and latent unexploded radioactive munitions.
In fact, as the initiator of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the United States has never really cared about Ukraine's freedom and independence, but how to use Ukraine to contain or even eliminate Russia, because Russia is militarily one of the very few countries in the world that can compete with the US military.
Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the United States has continued to add fuel to the fire, provoking sanctions, only afraid of the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war, in order to make the war continue, the United States continues to give Ukraine assistance, the US Senate minority leader, Republican connection Cornell also said on September 6 that aid to Ukraine can weaken one of the most important strategic opponents of the United States without a shot.
And this war is a win-win for the United States, not only weakening strategic opponents, but also earning more of the economy, as the United States provides Ukraine with weapons and equipment continues to upgrade, American arms dealers are also making a lot of money, according to the US "Defense of Democracy Foundation" report in January this year, the United States has obtained at least $21.7 billion in direct financial benefits from the conflict in Ukraine.
According to the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the number and value of weapons approved by the United States for NATO allies to sell in 2022 doubled compared to 2021, and the huge benefits between this can continue to earn money as long as the Russian-Ukrainian war continues.
Third, Russia's position
According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, on the 7th, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov responded that the United States providing poor axis bombs to Ukraine will not only make the war situation more tense, but also reflect the United States' contempt for the harm of using poor axis bombs in the war zone, and he also said that NATO countries continue to put pressure on Russia, resulting in the brink of armed conflict between the current and major powers.
In an interview with TASS, Deputy Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Farhan Haque, said the UN opposes the use of depleted uranium bombs anywhere in the world because depleted uranium bombs pose a huge biochemical danger to humans.
At present, the countries that develop and use poor shaft bombs are mainly the United States, Britain and other NATO countries, and there will be people here, why does China not produce, is China lacking in this regard? In fact, China has developed a poor shaft bomb with comparable strength in the 80s of last century, but out of humanitarian considerations, China chose to abandon the development and use of poor shaft bomb.
However, this does not mean that other countries do not need to, even if a large number of countries have enacted laws and regulations on restricting or prohibiting the use of lean bullets, but on the issue of sustainable human development, the ban on poor bullets still needs to be maintained.
Although the road to addressing the chemical and biological hazards of depleted uranium bombs is bound to be difficult, with the concerted efforts of the international community and all States, we have a chance to achieve the harm caused by depleted uranium bombs.
