Seizure of stolen goods.
On August 13, when MUJI was counting goods at a shopping mall in Shanghai's Pudong Qiantan area, staff found that several pieces of clothing were missing and immediately reported to the Qiantan Police Station of the Pudong Public Security Bureau that they had suffered theft worth several hundred yuan.
After accessing the public video, the police quickly found a man and a woman, and followed the line all the way to successfully grasp the whereabouts of the two, thinking that this public security case would end immediately, but the police handling the case ushered in the "God Unfolding" they never thought of.
"You stole all this house?" When knocking on the door of the suspect's house, the police were a little surprised, and saw that there were more than a thousand pieces of clothing and various objects stacked in the house, all of which were MUJI's goods. In the face of the police who came to the door to arrest, they actually asked: "We are brand agents, what are you police doing?" "The police, who already have evidence, arrested the two people.
The police arrested the suspect
After arriving at the case, the two suspects finally confided their "family history". The suspect Liu Moumou and his wife Zuo Moumou are both serious workers, Liu Moumou used to work in MUJI store, and left after an unpleasant encounter with the store manager, so he wanted to take revenge on the other party.
Liu Moumou is familiar with the in-store shopping process and also knows the "dead ends" of the technical defense facilities in the store. So, the couple used the brand's packaging bags kept at home to avoid public video and successfully stole some clothes from the store.
MUJI had a wide range of businesses, including food, clothing, housing and transportation, and then they traveled to the brand's stores in Shanghai, ranging from a few pieces to dozens to hundreds.
A platform for husband and wife to sell stolen goods
Seeing that the goods at home are piling up more and more, they suddenly opened an online store calling themselves "brand agents", selling the brand's goods at a 20% discount, as long as customers have requirements, they will take advantage of weekends and holidays to visit the store, select, steal, pack, express, and open the online store prosperously, until they are caught by the police.
As of the time of the case, Liu Moumou and Zuo Moumou have sold more than 1,700 stolen items online for more than half a year, illegally making a profit of 260,000 yuan, and there are more than 1,400 unsold stolen items piled up in their homes, with a preliminary estimated value of more than 200,000 yuan. At present, the two have been criminally detained by the Pudong police in accordance with the law on suspicion of theft.
Police remind: the person in charge of the store should frequently check the security facilities in the store, install and repair the security blind area or facility defects in time to fill the loopholes, and do a good job in anti-theft measures. In addition, it is necessary to regularly check the goods in the store, and if it is found that the goods are missing for no reason and suspected of being stolen, they should report to the police in time.
