Su Shi before the second year of Yuan Feng (1079 AD) can be described as young talent and spirit. The career is also going all the way. However, it all came to an end in this year. In the second year of Xining (1069), Wang Anshi changed the law, and due to the advanced nature of the New Deal, although the overall strength of the country was improved to a certain extent, it also exposed many problems. In the process of re-implementation, due to various factors such as officials' rush to achieve quick results and different political views, the burden on the people has increased. During Su Shi's tenure as an official, he went deep into the people and was considerate of the people's feelings. He has reservations about the many abuses of the New Deal. Until he was transferred to Huzhou Zhizhou, he expressed his views on the situation of the new policy in the "Huzhou Xie Shang" to Song Shenzong. It was originally a piece of advice, but it was deliberately framed by vested interests under the New Deal for "fooling the imperial court, arrogantly arrogant, accusing public opinion, and harboring evil intentions." He Zhengchen, Shu 亶 dǎn, Li Ding, and others singled out sentences that were considered to be implicit irony in Su Shi's large number of poems. This top literary and political rookie at that time was sent to the Goshidai Prison. Above the imperial court, everyone followed the trend and fell into the well. There is a great tendency to put Su Shi to death. This led to the "Wutai Poetry Case" that opened the first literary prison in Chinese history. (Wutai, that is, Yushi Tai, is called Wutai because of its cypress trees planted on it and inhabiting crows all year round).
Su Shi, who had "the supreme monarch Yao Shun, why is this matter difficult", was full of ambition and full of blood, but finally fell into the despair of "the holy lord is like the spring of all things in the sky, and the little minister is foolish and dies secretly". Fortunately, Su Shi's life should not be extinguished, some political elders and people of insight advised Song Shenzong, and even Wang Anshi wrote to say: "An has a holy world and kills a talented man?" Coupled with the national policy of Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin not killing literati doctors, he was reborn after 130 days of suffering on the verge of beheading.
The road of life is already bumpy, and only by experiencing hardships can we transcend the world and detach from the spirit. After the "Wutai Poetry Case", Su Shi can be said to have led us to meet another different him - "Su Dongpo" with his open-minded and detached spiritual realm and brilliant artistic achievements. Although his journey has been bumpy, his optimistic and positive attitude to life has enlightened nature in the ordinary and sublimated the realm in the bitterness. This is the philosophical understanding we see: "I don't know the true face of Lushan Mountain, but I am only in this mountain"; "The great river goes east, the waves are exhausted, and the characters of the ages" are such a soul-shaking ancient famous sentence; "What time is the bright moon?" Ask Qingtian for wine: "This transcendent nature and turn sorrow into an open-minded understanding of life."
Su Dongpo is admired by future generations with his optimistic, positive and open-minded spiritual realm, inspiring us to see the light even in the dark, and even if we are in a deep quagmire, we have the courage to run to the broad road.
