Sony released full-frame micro-single Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR from 13,999 yuan

DoNews news on August 29, on August 29, Sony (China) Co., Ltd. officially released a new generation of compact full-frame mirrorless cameras - full-frame dual-image small "7" Alpha 7C II (model name: ILCE-7CM2) and full-frame quality flagship small "7" Alpha 7CR (model name: ILCE-7CR). Both cameras combine the advantages of lightweight and excellent dual image shooting to meet the diverse image expression needs of creators.

The next-generation full-frame dual-image small "7" Alpha 7C II uses a 33-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, which combines a compact and portable design with advanced features, making it suitable for a variety of shooting subjects such as travel, food exploration, and daily life recording.

The new generation of full-frame flagship small "7" Alpha 7CR is also a full-frame mirrorless camera in a compact design. The 61-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor (identical to the Alpha 7R V) delivers excellent resolution and rich gradation detail.

The combination of excellent image quality, mobility and lightness makes the Alpha 7CR easily capable of shooting high-quality images in landscape, travel, cultural street photography, portrait, ecology and other subjects.

Both new models are equipped with Sony's AI smart chip and BIONZ XR image processor, which can recognize up to 7 types of subjects, and achieve 7 levels of 15-axis stabilization at the same time. In terms of video performance, they all support high-quality 4K 60p 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording, with S-Cinetone color mode, which can directly produce more cinematic pictures.

In addition, the two new products support enhanced stabilization mode, AI-based automatic framing, digital audio interface, and other advanced video features.

The Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR are equipped with the same AI smart chip as the Alpha 7R V, which captures subjects with high accuracy through advanced subject recognition. For example, in portrait shooting, human pose recognition technology can capture and track subjects with high accuracy, even when the person is in a complex environment or when the face is occluded. In addition, the new machine can also identify a total of seven subjects, including birds, insects, cars, trains and planes.

The Alpha 7C II supports 7K oversampled 4K 30p in full-frame mode, and the Alpha 7CR supports 6.2K oversampled 4K 30p high-quality 4K video in Super 35mm mode. Support S-Log can achieve 14+ levels of 4 dynamic range, and can also present rich layers in scenes with high contrast.

In log mode, users can monitor pre-imported LUT effects directly on the camera viewfinder and check the final video during shooting before entering the post-production process.

In addition, the new S-Cinetone does not require post-processing, allowing for a more cinematic picture. S-Cinetone, a technology derived from Sony movie cameras, delivers natural, neutral tones for a healthy skin tone effect and a cinematic look. Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR also have a creative look feature that allows users to easily change the tone and mood of photos and videos.

The new product features a touch-operated flip-out LCD screen, intuitive operation and new touch menus to make shooting more comfortable. Features a customizable front wheel, photo/video/S&Q mode switching dial, and an XGA OLED high-resolution viewfinder. The Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR also offer 7 levels of 15-axis stabilization for more stable photo shooting.

The Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR support smartphone connection using the Creators' App, which allows remote shooting and image transfer to a smartphone or tablet. In conjunction with the new version of the Camera Remote SDK, which will be released at the end of September 2023, remote control and setting adjustment can be realized.

Both new models offer excellent handling and are easy to carry. When paired with the G-Master wide-angle zoom lens "SEL1635GM2" released at the same time, users can experience the excellent image performance and high-speed autofocus performance of the G Master lens using a large aperture of F2.8 in the full focal range.

In addition, users can choose from Sony's more than 70 E-mount lenses covering different focal lengths.

Sony's full-frame interchangeable-lens mirrorless cameras Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR will go on sale in mid-September and late September 2023, respectively. The MSRP for the Alpha 7C II single-body is CNY 13,999 and the MSRP for the standard lens kit (SEL2860 lens) is CNY 15,799. The suggested retail price of the Alpha 7CR single-body is 20,999 RMB.
