In the early morning of September 2, Beijing time, La Liga giants Barcelona continuously announced the transfer dynamics before the summer transfer window closed. After leaving Fati on loan, Barca immediately loaned Portuguese winger Felix from Atletico Madrid, while Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo was loaned from Manchester City. Barca's centre-back Eric Garcia is on loan at Girona, along with Abboud, who moved to Real Betis for €7.5 million.
Earlier, Barca loaned youngster Fati to Brighton in the Premier League for a season without a buyout clause. Barca immediately loaned Felix from Atletico Madrid to replace Fathi. According to official sources from Atletico, Felix first renewed his contract with Atletico until 2029 before going on loan to Barcelona. Barca confirmed that Felix will be on loan until the end of the season without a buyout clause.
Shortly thereafter, Barca officially announced the loan of Cancelo from Manchester City, and as in Felix's form, Cancelo will be on loan until June 2024, without a buyout clause. Owing to tensions with Pep Guardiola, Joao Cancelo left Manchester City in the winter window and he was loaned to Bayern. In the new season, Joao Cancelo will still not be able to stay at Manchester City.
Barca also have players to clean up after two loans, with La Masia Academy defender Eric Garcia leaving the club on loan and joining Girona until June 2024. Eric Garcia joined Manchester City from La Masia in 2017 and returned to Barca in 2021 after four years at the club.
Also leaving Barcelona was Aboud, a Moroccan international who moved to Real Betis for a transfer fee of €7.5 million. In the transfer agreement, Barca has Abboud's buyback clause, and if Abboud moves again, Barca can get 50% of the secondary transfer fee.
