Shortly thereafter, Barca officially announced the loan of Cancelo from Manchester City, and as in Felix's form, Cancelo will be on loan until June 2024, without a buyout clause. Owing to tensions with Pep Guardiola, Joao Cancelo left Manchester City in the winter window and he was loaned to Bayern.
