Heng Bingsan, 58, is a Great Wall protector in Xifengkou No. 2 Village, Qianxi County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, responsible for guarding the ancient Great Wall in the Xipanjiakou section of Xifengkou. In the seventies and eighties of the 20th century, after the completion of the Panjiakou Reservoir, the two Xiongguan Passes of Xifengkou and Panjiakou were submerged in the water, thus forming a unique "underwater Great Wall" landscape. With the change of water level, the "Underwater Great Wall" has appeared from time to time, becoming a "net celebrity" check-in place for many outdoor enthusiasts. The sparkling Panjiakou Reservoir is the main passage for Hengbing San's inspection of the Great Wall. In 2008, Heng Bingsan became a protector of the Great Wall, initially patrolling by passing fishing boats, and later built a tin boat for convenience. One person, two oars, in the past 15 years, Heng Bingsan has forged a deep relationship with this Great Wall, and he is familiar with every wall, pier, water gate, and battlement. Today, Hengbing San rowed to patrol the Great Wall every two or three days, and in winter due to the freezing of the water, he needed to climb the Great Wall over the mountains.
