Prince Harry recently spoke out on Netflix again, this time talking about his experience serving in Afghanistan and how he lacked psychological support when he returned home.

This is the first time he has shown his vulnerability and discontent to the public after breaking with the royal family earlier this year.

In his Undefeated Hearts documentary series, Prince Harry shares the story of the Undefeated Games he founded, a tournament for injured service members designed to help them recover and regain their confidence.

He also recounted how he returned home from the war and coped with the trauma of losing his mother and repressed emotions, and how he sought treatment and support.

Prince Harry said: "I don't have that support structure, that network or that kind of expert advice to determine what really happened to me. Unfortunately, like most of us, the first time you think about treatment is when you're lying on the floor in the fetal position, probably wishing you had dealt with these things before. ”

However, his claims raised some doubts, as he had said his younger brother, Prince William, had given him great support and encouraged him to seek help.

There were hints that he had a "persistent selective memory" and ignored the services that the royal family and the military provided to him.

Prince Harry, who served twice in Afghanistan, wrote in his biography "Spare Wheel" how he killed 25 Taliban insurgents with Apache helicopters.

In 2008, when he toured for the first time, he said mental health was a "dirty word" and it wasn't until he returned from his second tour in 2013 that he realized the trauma he had repressed since Princess Diana's fatal car accident for 16 years.

The Undefeated Hearts series is seen as part of the Sussexes' attempt to reinvent their brand after a series of PR setbacks.

Princess Meghan also appears on the show and supports her husband. She also attended the opening ceremony of last year's Olympics and introduced her "incredible" husband.

The five-episode Netflix series tells the story of veterans from the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, and Canada training and competing at the 2022 Dutch tournament, telling how the game changed their lives.

Prince Harry said: "I speak proudly about how 'wife, girlfriend, parents, grandparents, children' tell me 'thank you for bringing my dad back' or 'thank you for putting a smile back on my husband's face'. ”

Speaking with Canadian indoor rower Darrell Lin, the Duke said: "I can't pretend to know what you've been through, but I've had moments like this in my life, I didn't know about it, but because of the trauma of failure when I was 12 years old my mom, for so many years, I didn't have any emotions, I couldn't cry, I couldn't feel it. I didn't know it at the time.

"It wasn't until the latter part of my life, at the age of 28, that there was a situation where the first few bubbles started popping up, and then suddenly it was like someone was shaking, and then it was 'poof' – and then there was chaos. My emotions sprayed all over the walls. ”

The Duke said he launched the Undefeated Games in 2014 after seeing wounded soldiers flying home from Afghanistan in 2013.

The Duchess of Sussex makes only a cameo appearance on the show, the latest project in the couple's £80 million deal with Netflix, with only brief appearances in four of the five episodes.

Harry's passion project comes as he and Meghan prepare for their first public appearance together since May. A spokesman for the Sussexes confirmed she would join her husband at next month's Undefeated Games in Düsseldorf.

Ahead of the Olympics, Harry will travel alone to the UK for an awards ceremony for the charity he sponsors on the eve of the first anniversary of the Queen's death on September 7.
