Recently, according to foreign media reports, in addition to the discontinued production of the Fiesta car series in July, Ford will also stop producing the current Escape (American Kuga car series), Ruijie and Transit Connect car series in the future. In fact, Ford has already discontinued the S-Max and Galaxy MPV series in April, and the Focus hatchback series has also confirmed that the European market will officially stop production in 2025. The Ford brand will gradually discontinue production of its fuel vehicles and is expected to reach the annual sales target of 2 million electric EV models worldwide by 2026, and only offer pure electric EV models in the European market from 2030.
In addition, Ford also announced in 2023 that it will build a large-scale factory BlueOval City in Tennessee, USA, preparing to mass-produce the new generation electric cargo truck code-named Project T3, which is expected to start in 2025, according to Ford, after the official start of production of the BlueOval City plant, the maximum production capacity is expected to reach 500,000 electric cargo trucks per year. In order to achieve the goal of brand electrification, Ford is actively developing next-generation pure electric products and production lines, and is also phasing out existing fuel products.
In addition, the Escape series has undergone a mid-term minor facelift in June 2022, but the Ford Ruiji facelift model launched in August by the Chinese market has not actually changed in the front of the car following the footsteps of the American model, the main change is only in the improvement of the interior configuration, after the original factory has announced that the Escape (American Kuga series) will enter history in the future, it is estimated that the possibility of not following the footsteps of the US standard for appearance changes is extremely high, and future product updates will focus on interior configuration changes.
