Located in the heart of Ljubljana, Prešernov trg Square developed from a medieval crossroads, the entrance to the walled city.
The square is home to three of Ljubljana's most recognizable buildings: the pink façade of the Franciscan Church, the monument to France Prešeren and the Triple Bridge.
Built between 1646 and 1660, the Baroque façade of the Church of the Franciscan was completed around 1700, rebuilt in the 19th century and renovated in 1993. At the top of the façade stands the largest bronze statue of the Virgin Mary in Ljubljana, and the interior is decorated with very fine frescoes.

Franzer Prešeren is Slovenia's greatest romantic poet, whose poetry and works have contributed most to the enhancement of the national consciousness and cultural identity of the Slovenes. After Slovenia declared independence in 1991, Prescheren's "A Toast" was chosen as the national anthem. The great man spent most of his life in Ljubljana, and the Plesheren monument on the square was made in his honor.

The triple bridge consists of three bridges, the middle main bridge was built in 1842 and the two sub-bridges were cleverly added on both sides of the main bridge by Prichenek between 1929 and 1932 for pedestrian traffic. Today, the Triple Bridge is one of Ljubljana's most unique landmarks.
Crossing the triple bridge, you will come to the Central Market, an ideal place for visitors to experience the city's folklore and lifestyle, which is also one of the architectural gems of Prichenek. On the Pogačar Square in the Central Market, on sunny Fridays from March to October, the Open Kitchen takes place, offering a wide range of fresh and creative cuisine and authentic traditional dishes, which are popular with tourists and Ljubljana locals alike.

Not far from the market is the Dragon Bridge, named after the dragon statue. Four dragon statues are located at the corners of the bridge, their eyes are wide, their teeth are flailing, and they are full of majesty, as if they are guarding the peace and tranquility of the city. It is often said that a visit to Ljubljana is not counted without taking a picture with the dragon statue on the Dragon Bridge.

There are many bars and cafes on the banks of the Petkovšek River, dappled tree shadows and gentle breeze, a drink on the shore before continuing to go, the locals' sense of relaxation can be perfectly grasped~
Since the 12th century, Mestni trg Square has been one of the centers of Ljubljana. Over the years, the medieval buildings on the square were gradually replaced by Baroque palaces, including the Town Hall, which stands in front of the Fountain of the Three Carniolan Rivers, elaborated by the Baroque sculptor Francesco Robba, on the base of which three groups of gods represent the three rivers of Slovenia: the Sava, Ljubljana River and Kolka River.

The Gornji trg connects to the old square (Stari trg) and leads to the foot of Castle Hill and leads to the top of Ljubljana Castle.

If you want to continue wandering around Ljubljana's Old Town, cross the Ljubljanica River to the Križevniška neighborhood. In the 14th century, it was enclosed in walls and separated from the city by two parts.
There is a promenade on the banks of the Breg River, which is of course a must-see to enjoy the City Walk and the tranquil beauty of the river.

When traveling to Novi Trg, be sure to visit the National and University Library. This spectacular "Hall of Knowledge" has an Italian Renaissance façade and its huge marble columns resemble ancient temples, and is regarded as one of Pričnek's most important architectural works in Slovenia.

Also a masterpiece of Priechenek, the Cobblers' Bridge was built between 1931 and 1932, protected by ornate stone balustrades on both sides, decorated with stone balls on top of stone pillars not far apart, and the two stone pillars in the center of the bridge are slightly shorter to reflect the sense of hierarchy. Once home to shoemakers' stalls, the bridge now hosts street theatre and music, and under the bridge can be crossed by boaters and paddleboarders.
The central square of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg square, has hosted the most important events since 1821, as well as the Slovenian Philharmonic. Founded in 1701, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the oldest in the world.
Finally, end the trip with a refreshing cocktail on the restaurant terrace of the Nebotičnik skyscraper in Ljubljana. The 13-storey building was the tallest building in the Balkans when it was completed in 1933 and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city from its terrace.
