Since the Philippines prepared to allow the United States to use multiple military bases due to the South China Sea issue, the US military has recently begun to speed up the process of finding a site for the base, the latest candidate of which is only about 200 kilometers from the island of Taiwan.
Philippine Department of Defense officials recently claimed that when the US military selected a military base a few days ago, it paid attention to the Bataan Islands, which is only about 200 kilometers away from Taiwan Island. The U.S. military is ready to assist the Armed Forces of the Philippines in deploying radars to enhance surveillance in this area.
In this regard, Bataan Islands Governor Kayko said that because the Philippines will be unable to use some of the country's ports due to strong wind and waves during the monsoon season, if the United States is willing to provide financial support, Bataan is willing to provide a deep-water port for the United States in the local Basigu area, which can also be used by the US military while facilitating Philippine maritime logistics.
According to relevant information, the Bataan Islands are located in the north of the Philippines, guarding the Bus Strait in and out of the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea, the nearest point is less than 150 kilometers from the island of Taiwan, and the ancient port of the bus that the United States is looking for this time is about 200 kilometers away.
In addition to affecting the situation in the Taiwan Strait, if the US military is really deployed in this area, it will also have a huge monitoring effect on the Chinese Navy's entry and exit from the western Pacific Ocean through the Miyako Strait, and will form a pincer shape with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force deployed on Yonaguni Island in the Ryukyu Islands to strengthen the deterrent effect of the first island chain and limit the exertion of China's underwater forces.
Since the first and second island chains are both within the coverage of our missiles, the Philippines' move to lure wolves into the house is undoubtedly set on fire, and instead of relying on the US military to provide security protection, it has pushed itself to the front line of the conflict.
As for the collusion between the United States and the Philippines, although it is still necessary to influence or delay the Philippine plan to introduce US troops through cooperation and negotiation, due to the sudden change in the Philippines' attitude towards China due to the South China Sea issue, preparations for relevant military struggle should also be considered.
