As two of Skoda's main models, we recently obtained official pictures and more information about the interiors of the new generation Speedai and Kodiak. Both models will make their world premiere this autumn and be produced in Mladá Boleslav, Slovakia. With the European Union planning to discontinue the sale of fuel vehicles in 2035, the new Speedai and the new Kodiak will be the last two internal combustion engine models under the Skoda brand, heralding the acceleration of the era of Skoda's electrification.

The all-new Speedy continues the original hatchback and touring versions, and although still wrapped in camouflage stickers, it is certain that the new car will be further upgraded in design and is expected to be similar to the new Octavia and full of modernity. In terms of body size, the liftback version has a length, width and height of 4912/1849/1481mm, while the touring version has a length, width and height of 4902/1849/1482mm, respectively, and the wheelbase of both models is 2841mm. In particular, the trunk volume of the hatchback version reaches 645 liters, while the trunk volume of the touring version reaches 690 liters, providing ample space for travel.

The interior design of the new Speedpad fully reflects the integration of modern technology. Equipped with the latest digital cockpit, using 100% renewable interior materials, 10-inch full LCD instrument cluster, 13-inch floating center display, HUD, touch control knob, etc. have become representatives of the new generation of equipment. The interior changes not only in the improved sense of technology, but also in the shift lever, which uses a pocket gear design to free up more storage space in the center console. At the same time, the new car is also equipped with 15W wireless fast charging of mobile phones and seat ventilation heating function, and optional massage seat and four-way adjustable lumbar support function to provide a comfortable driving experience.

In terms of power, the all-new Speedai will be available in gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions. Among them, the gasoline version will be equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 150 horsepower; the 2.0T engine front-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 204 horsepower, and the four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 265 horsepower. All engines are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The plug-in hybrid version will be composed of a 1.5T engine and motor, the comprehensive power of the system reaches 204 horsepower, the battery capacity is 25.7kWh, the pure electric cruising range can reach 100 kilometers, and supports 50kW fast charging, adding a new choice for environmentally friendly travel.

The new Kodiak continues the excellent genes of the current model in design, but also brings many new changes. The new mid-mesh design, unique LED light cluster and new front surround give Kodiak a more modern twist. In terms of body size, the length of the all-new Kodiak has been increased from 4701mm to 4758mm, and the wheelbase remains 2791mm, but the D-pillar is more inclined to make the overall line smoother.

The interior upgrade is also exciting, and the new Kodiak will continue to be similar to the Speedpie, including 15W wireless fast charging for mobile phones and multiple USB-C ports with a power output of 45W. The center console design is more three-dimensional, and the air conditioning outlet distribution is more dispersed. In addition, a power interface is provided to power the dashcam to improve usability.

In terms of powertrain, the new Kodiak also offers a variety of options. The fuel version will be equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T gasoline engines with maximum power of 150 hp and 204 hp respectively, of which the 2.0T is available in an all-wheel drive version. The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a combination of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor, with a comprehensive system power of 204 horsepower, a battery capacity of 25.7kWh, and a pure electric range of about 100 kilometers, providing more possibilities for eco-friendly driving.
