This summer, the research market is hot, the "museum fever" is heating up, and all kinds of summer camps are full... Faced with the question of "where to go during the holidays" for their children, many parents and children make their own choices.

Among them, high-quality military summer camps have gradually become the "summer preferred" of many parents to help teenagers enhance their physical fitness, hone their will, and cultivate self-reliance and self-improvement spirit.

Chongqing Municipality organized young people from Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan Province, and Changdu City, Tibet to gather at military summer camps to build the "second classroom" during the holidays into a comprehensive education platform; Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province gathered the efforts of the whole district to select outstanding students from the primary and secondary school students who signed up to participate in the military summer camp, build a military cultural space, and lead students to explore the military "Grand View Garden"; A certain naval unit of the Northern Theater organized students of the "August 1 Loving People's School" to walk out of the mountains and come to the naval base to fulfill their dreams of "night in the military port."

Next, let's walk into these "material", "interesting" and "heartful" military summer camps to explore a new path of national defense education during the holidays.

Recently, the changes in Yang Zihan, a second-year student at Chongqing Guanba Middle School, have made parents feel relieved, not always playing with their mobile phones in the room, but going outdoors to play with their friends, and often doing some housework as much as they can at home. Yang Zihan's mother sighed: "Participating in a summer camp, the child seems to have grown up a lot, stable and diligent." ”

The summer camp mentioned by Yang's mother is a youth military summer camp jointly sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Military and Local People, and this year is the 12th edition. During the week, nearly 1,000 representatives of primary and secondary school students in Chongqing, as well as outstanding teenagers from Sichuan Province and Changdu, Tibet, went to three camps in Banan District, Jiangjin District and Chengkou County to experience a variety of summer camp activities.

Military summer camps, naturally full of "military flavor". The summer camp is taught by outstanding retired soldiers, and the course content includes military skills training such as formation, queue, military body boxing, and lectures on topics such as national defense knowledge and military knowledge. "The summer camp has created a good environment, in a relatively concentrated time, we teach military knowledge, impart military skills, and more importantly, plant the seeds of love for the party and the country and the army in the hearts of students." Zhang Zhengxi, who has served as a summer camp instructor for many times, said.

Receiving edification in the barracks and learning the good qualities of soldiers is the original intention of many parents to send their children to military summer camps. A parent told reporters: "Signing up for the summer camp is to improve the child's self-care ability and develop good living habits. ”

It is understood that most of the campers in this summer camp are teenagers aged 9 to 14, and they are in an important period of improving learning ability and cultivating behavioral habits. "We will build the military summer camp into a comprehensive education platform, enhance the national defense awareness of young people through diversified practical activities, improve their comprehensive quality, and make the summer camp a 'second classroom' during the holiday." Liao Chuanjin, secretary of the Chongqing Municipal CPC Committee of the Communist Youth League, said.

In view of the characteristics of young people's strong curiosity and quick acceptance of new things, the summer camp has formulated a "1+3+N" course menu, that is, taking military culture learning experience as the main line, patriotic national defense knowledge education, mental health counseling knowledge lectures, self-help and self-care self-care ability training as the main backbone, and opening a number of courses such as science and technology experience, intangible cultural heritage studies, and labor exercise in a timely manner.

During the week, the campers learned a lot of things that they could not learn in school. Gao Zixuan, a sixth-grade student at the Affiliated Primary School of Fengjie Normal School, felt the deepest experience of working as a young docent. The summer camp arranged for him to serve as a temporary docent at the former site of the command post of the Red Army in Chengkou County. In order to tell the story of the Red Army to the visiting students, Gao Zixuan, under the guidance of professional teachers, carefully read relevant materials, learn explanation skills, and carry out targeted exercises. In the end, Gao Zixuan successfully completed the explanation and was praised by teachers and students.

"Chongqing is rich in red resources, and we arranged for campers to visit the Municipal National Defense Education Hall, Marshal Nie Rongzhen Exhibition Hall and other venues, and adopted the methods of listening to stories, visiting role models, writing impressions, and telling about inheritance, which not only carried forward the revolutionary spirit, but also achieved the purpose of improving the campers' reading, writing and expression skills." Summer camp staff Xia Guanghui introduced.

In order to cultivate the multi-faceted quality of teenagers, the summer camp sets up behavioral habit training around life routine and housekeeping to improve self-care ability; Invite professionals to explain fire protection knowledge, carry out emergency training and improve self-rescue ability; Organize experiential activities such as robot assembly to improve hands-on ability.

"You are on the left, I am on the right, we are caught between left and right..." On August 24, Liao Pinsen, a fifth-grade student at Wenzhou Experimental Primary School in Zhejiang Province, and Wu Haonuan, a sixth-grade student at the Municipal Juvenile Art School, teamed up to experience VR "tank battles." With the sound of the battle, the "battle situation" on the electronic display screen was intense, and the onlookers were eager to see the "enemy" being eliminated one by one.

Recently, the 3rd Military Summer Camp was held in Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, and VR "Tank Battle" was the campers' favorite project.

This summer, letting their children participate in military summer camps has become an important option for many parents of primary and secondary school students in Lucheng District. A parent said that the summer camp is jointly organized by the District Education Bureau and the Ministry of People's Armed Forces, and the activities are formal and standardized, allowing children to experience military camp life, learn military skills, temper their will and quality, and it is a public welfare activity.

It is understood that the campers of this year's summer camp come from 24 middle schools and 73 primary schools in Lucheng District, with 300 students each in the junior high school and primary school sections. "Military summer camp is a carrier of national defense education, summer students have a large period of spare time, we seize this opportunity to organize summer camp activities, can receive different effects from school national defense education." Pan Chi-min, director of the Education Development Service Center of the District Education Bureau, said. When allocating places, summer camps are skewed toward remote township schools, giving students in relatively under-resourced areas more opportunities to experience.

"To hold a high-quality summer camp, the venue and curriculum are the key points." As the organizer, the leader of the Lucheng District People's Armed Forces Department introduced that they will set up the camp in the district militia training base, where the training and living facilities and equipment are complete, and the base's national defense education experience center has a military arms introduction area, weapons and equipment exhibition area, VR experience area, etc., which can fully meet the curiosity of primary and secondary school students about the barracks and their desire to explore the unknown.

In terms of curriculum, in addition to basic national defense and military knowledge learning and military skills training, the summer camp also adds "real CS" confrontation, wild survival and other items. In the National Defense Education Experience Center, the summer camp makes full use of scientific and technological means to build a military "Grand View Garden", build a space for military cultural exploration, and organize campers to carry out activities such as military experience, red study, and military science popularization.

"The instructors here are very professional, teaching us a lot of military knowledge, and also showing us advanced weapons and equipment." Ji Yongkang, a student at Wenzhou No. 17 Middle School, said that in the VR experience area, you can experience driving a helicopter and a tank through the "battlefield" under fire, which is both tense and exciting. In the "Re-walking the Red Army Road" experience area, you can immerse yourself in the hardship and tenacity of the Red Army soldiers climbing snowy mountains and meadows.

In addition to military activities, the summer camp also pays attention to edutainment, carrying out activities such as idiom solitaire and talent exhibition, creating a relaxed atmosphere, so that the summer camp has "war flavor" and "fun". At the same time, the Lucheng District Military Land also fully tapped local red resources, carried out revolutionary traditional education, invited veterans of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea to tell battle stories, and imprinted a "red mark" in the hearts of the campers.

"From the first session to now, more than 80 students from our school have participated in the military summer camp." Li Yuanping, a teacher at Nanpu Experimental Middle School, introduced that students participating in the summer camp are recommended by the school according to their personal wishes and students' learning conditions. After returning to school, they all maintained the good habits of summer nutrition, and some took the initiative to pair up with the freshmen to tell them about the summer camp experience.

Living in the camp, sweating, a military summer camp, is a growth and experience. Since the opening of the military summer camp, it has generated good repercussions in primary and secondary schools in Lucheng District, simulating military camp life and immersive military experience, enhancing the campers' feelings of loving the party and the country and the army, and igniting their youth camouflage dreams.

Yamariva's dream fulfills "Night in the Military Port"

The first time I flew an airplane, the first time I boarded a warship, I saw the sea for the first time... Shi Longqin, who was still helping adults in the field with farm work the day before departure, thought that he would be able to get out of the mountains by entering university, but he did not expect that his dream would come true this summer.

Shi Longqin is a junior high school student at Paibi School (including 18-dongcun Primary School) in Huayuan County, Hunan Province. In early August, she participated in the military summer camp "Journey to the North Sea" organized by a certain naval department of the Northern Theater, and dreamed of "Night in the Military Port".

In addition to Paibi School, there was also another "Bayi Love School" built with the assistance of the Ministry - students of Swan Naval Hope Primary School in Xishui County, Guizhou Province.

This summer camp of hand-in-hand mountain and sea originated from an agreement.

In December last year, during the construction assistance, officers and men of the department learned that many students at the Paibi School had never been out of the mountains, let alone seen the sea. Therefore, they agreed with the school to organize a summer (winter) camp activity every year, inviting students to come to the military port to see the sea and experience the life of the army.

"During the previous visit, many students said that they wanted to see the sea, and some even said that they wanted to become a navy when they grew up." Wang Jianli, the relevant person in charge of the summer camp, introduced that they carefully planned the content of the summer camp according to the needs of students, and set up three types of special activities, including navy, sea power, and ocean, to help students broaden their horizons and increase their knowledge.

Walking in line, playing military boxing, learning boat art... In the Navy topic, the campers started from the one-day living system, experienced barracks life, learned naval knowledge, and learned about the Chinese Navy.

"The warship is much more powerful than I see on TV! And these cannons, I must draw them next time. When visiting the warship, Long Xinyu, a sixth-grade student from 18-dong village, reached out and touched the main gun of the warship, saying that he must tell his classmates about his feelings when he went back. Before departure, Long Xinyu, who loves to draw, painted his imaginary military port, warship and navy brothers and sisters with great anticipation.

Yuan Xinyu, a young camper, remembered the task explained by his grandfather before departure: to take a look at the communication equipment of the modern navy for his grandfather, a communications veteran. Satellite phones, radar... This is something that doesn't appear in Grandpa's story. This time, Yuan Xinyu not only brought his own handmade periscope, but also learned to type the word "navy" in the flag language.

From the Red Education Base of Liugong Island, the Sea Power Museum of a frigate detachment, to the Naval Museum, the visit activities set up by the sea power theme allowed the campers to remember the humiliating history of the mainland's modern sea defenselessness and feel the development process of the People's Navy from small to large and from weak to strong. In the marine activities, campers visited Ocean University of China and Qingdao Underwater World to appreciate the charm of the ocean and establish lofty ideals.

When returning to the camp to visit, Kong Yuanqin, secretary of the party branch of the Swan Navy Hope Primary School, found that the old photos of the school were prominently displayed in the military history museum. It turns out that this naval force has helped the school for 22 years. Over the years, officers and soldiers have often visited schools to conduct on-the-spot investigations to help improve the conditions for running schools and help students in difficulty successfully complete their studies. In 2012, the ministry invited 10 students from the school to the military port for a summer camp. Now, they're all admitted to college.

"The night in the military port, quiet, the waves gently shake the battleship..." At the gala, the campers, together with the officers and men of the Navy, sang this song that was often sung in school.
