In the future, the Xuzhou Chengxiacheng Ruins Museum, which will be presented under Pengcheng Square, will unveil the time rings of Xuzhou, a national historical and cultural city, layer by layer through the archaeological excavations of systematic science and unique exhibition design; the ancient city relics of "the city under the city, the fuxiafu, the street under the street, and the well" will be frozen in the same frame. Xuzhou Xiacheng Ruins Museum is an important part of the underground space transportation connection project of Pengcheng Square, which is located within the scope of the underground city ruins of Pengcheng Square, a key cultural relics burial area and cultural protection unit in Xuzhou.

The Pengcheng Square and the surrounding area of the project plot are the central areas of the Warring States, Qinhan Pengcheng County, and County. Since Cao Cao moved the Xuzhou Assassin History Department to Pengcheng during the Three Kingdoms period and renamed Pengcheng to Xuzhou, through the Tang and Song dynasties to the Ming and Qing dynasties, this area has always been the core area of Xuzhou City, and the cultural accumulation from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Ming and Qing dynasties is extremely rich.
The first phase of archaeological excavations began at the end of April 2020 and ended in November 2020, with an actual excavation area of 950 square meters. Among them, 650 square meters of excavation was cleaned up to the Ming Dynasty strata, and the four exploration parties of 300 square meters on the south side of the excavation range were gradually cleaned up from the Ming Dynasty strata down to the Han Dynasty strata. Among the strata of various eras, the cultural accumulation of the Ming Dynasty and Song Dynasty strata is the most abundant, and the wells in the Han Dynasty strata are the most important.
Xuzhou Xiacheng Ruins Museum relies on the construction of the underground space transportation connection project of Pengcheng Square, organically combines the subway transfer space, cultural relics exhibition, pedestrian slow traffic system, and commercial space, and the two underground passages on the south and west sides of the underground space respectively show the style of Taiping Street and Unity Street in the history of Xuzhou, organically integrate Xuzhou's "ancient" and "modern", truly show the evolution of Xuzhou's urban construction in 2600 years, and fully embody the unique cultural connotation of reading a thousand years and seeing everything in one museum.
