In this fast-paced world, time is an indisputable treasure, and your choice of timepiece highlights your quest for uniqueness and quality.

When you first asked us to customize a unique timepiece in your distinguished Rolls-Royce vehicle, rather than a traditional on-board time display, we were convinced that a unique Vacheron Constantin timepiece would add a luxurious atmosphere to your car and make you the only focus of time.

We are very good at the design of timepieces. We have the Calibre 1990, launched in 2016, a hand-wound in-house complex movement developed by the watchmaking team of the 57260, the most sophisticated timepiece in Vacheron Constantin's history, drawing on some of the technical developments in the 57260.

It was chosen because the 1990 calibre has an instantaneous double retrograde display of hours and minutes, which on the one hand resembles the analog design on a classic speedometer, and on the other hand, the action of the hour and minute hands instantly zeroing is also very much in line with the sporty spirit of the car. If instant zeroing represents a turn, an end and a new beginning, then the journey of the car is like a journey, adventure and exploration in our life, and the combination of the two meanings does not represent the adjustment and transformation of each of us in the world and life?

Of course, instantaneous zeroing is also a more stringent challenge for the pointer, ensuring accurate indication of the hour and minute hands, but also taking into account the tension of the mechanical mechanism and the toughness of the material. So we use titanium to make the pointers, which are incredibly lightweight and stronger than steel.

You will see that on the dial layout of this timepiece, we have done our best to perfectly integrate the legibility of time with the beautiful layout of the dial, showing an extraordinary artistic height. The time display is cleverly distributed on the top of the dial, with a wrap-around white minute counter to ensure perfect time reading, allowing you to instantly identify the time at a glance at the dashboard, and of course this design is also designed to leave plenty of space for the graceful mechanical whirling of the tourbillon.

The tourbillon is named after the 18th-century French watchmaker Antide Janvier, who invented the rotating sphere used to demonstrate the trajectory of planets, called the "armillary sphere". The biaxial tourbillon frame of this timepiece is crisscrossed, similar to the armillary sphere.

When you stop and look at it, you will see that its mechanics are extraordinary, sophisticated and complex, and seem to be a miracle woven by time and technology. The delicate gears mesh with each other, like tacit dance partners, spinning in a slow and precise rhythm. Each component has been meticulously carved to reflect the wisdom and inspiration of the Vacheron Constantin loft craftsmen.

The tourbillon was invented in the early 19th century, when pocket watches were usually placed vertically in the pocket to compensate for the influence of gravity on the smooth operation of the movement.

The timepiece you customise is also installed vertically in the dashboard of the car, so the tourbillon device is necessary. The Flyon is a perpetual sphere with two nested frames around two different axes rotating at a rate of one rotation every 60 seconds, representing our iconic Maltese Cross every 15 seconds.

You're also familiar with the Maltese Cross, a movement component on the barrel lid that keeps the hairspring stable for more precise timekeeping. We registered it as a brand identity in the 19th century and became an understated symbol of Vacheron Constantin's pursuit of precision.

Since its founding in 1755, for the first time in the history of contemporary watchmaking, we have only been commissioned in 1928 to create a timepiece for a car special, a custom Rolls-Royce body.

The biggest challenge was to make the timepiece meet the specific specifications of the instrument panel timepiece, so we developed a dedicated stand for this unique timepiece that is both secure and flexible to detach, and fits the precise dimensions of the Rolls-Royce Amethyst instrument panel area.

We 3D printed several models and finally decided that the bracket was made of polished stainless steel with a slightly curved frame to fit the inlay of the dashboard. At the same time, the inner frame of stainless steel is chamfered and polished, and then laser textured is used, covered with black PVD plating.

Of course, the stand is also polished with the exquisite craftsmanship of Vacheron Constantin's Haute Horlogerie tradition, so the white gold base of the timepiece, decorated with a hand-engraved sunburst pattern, and inlaid with our proud three-dimensional Maltese Cross logo, makes the entire stand equally extraordinary.

In order to better wind your operation, we have moved the crown from the usual 3 o'clock position to the 12 o'clock position, and deliberately adopted an oversized design to improve operability and practicality. At the same time, the case size has also been adjusted from 45mm to 43.8mm to fit into a lever-sized bracket of the car.

Frankly speaking, the design and production of this bracket has gone beyond the scope of Vacheron Constantin's watchmaking expertise, and it is both technical - allowing the timepiece to be turned 180° in order to appreciate the polished details of the case back of this outstanding timepiece -

Turn over the back of the timepiece and the precision aesthetic of the 1990 calibre is at a glance. The movement's main plate, polished in round satin and plated with a lilac NAC finish, echoes the colour of Rolls-Royce's amethyst leather seats.

The bridge on the dial side is neatly cut and hand-chamfered, and the plate bridge on the back side, also lilac, is decorated with Geneva ripples. From meticulous details to delicate finishes, you'll find the meticulous craftsmanship of the Rolls-Royce bodywork team and Vacheron Constantin watchmakers.

We also took safety into account – considering that in the event of a car crash, the wear resistance of the timepiece needs to be better, so the entire Turmillary Ritual tourbillon adjustment device is made of titanium, and the balance wheel is equipped with a spherical hairspring invented by Swiss watchmaker Jacques Frédéric Houriet in 1814.

The advantage of the spherical hairspring is that the end is not curved, which allows the tourbillon mechanism to maintain a near-perfect concentric rhythm, achieve better isochronism, and significantly improve the timing accuracy.

The brand's self-developed escapement structure on the Flyon is also made of silicon and coated with diamonds, ensuring that friction can be effectively reduced without lubrication, making the escapement more accurate and reliable.

The last thing to take into account, of course, is aesthetics – to allow the timepiece and stand to blend harmoniously into the aesthetic style of the whole car, while retaining our own brand personality. It can be said that this customized move of yours is also inspiring Vacheron Constantin to give full play to his imagination, boldly step out of his comfort zone and complete a pioneering feat that has never been done before.

This unique timepiece carries your unique identity and unparalleled taste, and every moment you look at it will be the best testimony to your taste and style. It is like a gorgeous poem, interpreting your unique charm with exquisite craftsmanship and elegant design.

And when you leave the car, you can also remove the timepiece and stand from the dashboard and put them in the exclusive storage case. Made of the same Calamand ebony and amethyst leather as the Rolls-Royce "Amethyst" body interior, the box is also slightly curved, echoing the interior dashboard design.

As for the dashboard in the car, we also provide the same empty bracket to replace and put it in place to ensure the integrity of the instrument panel and rebalance the car, and everything has never changed if it is not touched.
