Klay Thompson was born on February 8, 1990 in Los Angeles, the son of Michael Thompson, a 1978 NBA champion, and a former professional volleyball player. Clay is the second oldest in the family and has lived a new second-generation life since he was a child. Interestingly, Clay and Love have known each other since childhood, and the relationship is very good, the two once shared a baseball team in elementary school and won many championships together. Thompson's basketball talent didn't begin to emerge until his high school years. In 2004, Clay attended Santa Margarita High School near Los Angeles and was selected for the varsity basketball team. However, because he loved playing baseball as a child, Thompson didn't put all his mind on basketball. Until one thing changed his athletic career.
