In 1989, SIJ Corporation established the Nagano International Culture Institute in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. Nagano International Bunka College is the oldest Japanese language school in Nagano Prefecture, with thousands of graduates to date. In April 2019, SIJ Corporation established matsumoto International Japanese Language School in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. Matsumoto International Japanese Language School is located near Matsumoto City Station, just a 10-minute walk from the station.

For students who want to study in Japan, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and the Japan Admission for International Students Examination (EO) are very important. Teachers at Matsumoto International Japanese Language School conduct pre-test tutoring and mock exams before the exam.
The curriculum at Matsumoto International Japanese Language School is divided into a 2-year course and a 1-year and 6-month course. The 2-year course was introduced in April and taught for 80 weeks, with a total of 1,600 hours of instruction. The 1-year, 6-month course is opened in October and teaches 60 weeks with a total of 1,600 hours.

Matsumoto International Japanese Language School also has a scholarship system. Students who have a total attendance rate of 100% until graduation (1 year and 6 months or more) will receive a scholarship of 50,000 yen upon graduation. Students with a one-semester attendance rate of 95% or more, who perform well in class and have a serious learning attitude, receive a semester scholarship of 30,000 yen. In addition, semester scholarships are awarded twice a year. Students with the highest scores in the N1 Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and those who finish first on the School for The International University Entrance Examination (YJU) will receive a scholarship of 50,000 yen.
