Heung Kong sent a letter | more than 200 guests from six townships in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, to send 100th birthday wishes to the party

At 8:00 a.m. on July 1, the conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was solemnly held in Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Thousands of miles away in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, we organized the "100 Families Gather to Celebrate the Centenary" activity to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the party, and also kicked off the curtain. More than 200 villagers and guests sang their best wishes for the 100th birthday of the party and congratulated Hong Kong on the 24th anniversary of its return to the motherland.

The scene of the celebration

Due to the prevention and control of the epidemic, we limited the number of participants in this event. Throughout the event, festive Chinese red was used as the main color, and the national flag and the flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were prepared for the guests and villagers. The site is hung in many places with logos marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and hong Kong golden bauhinia and other works of art. It is worth mentioning that there is also the largest celebration curtain in Hong Kong.

At 8:00 a.m., accompanied by a live band playing the "March of the Volunteers", more than 200 villagers and guests stood up and sang the national anthem together. People waved flags in their hands, and the atmosphere was warm. At the event, we also invited a 5-year-old girl to lead the singing of "Singing the Motherland" on the spot. When the whole audience sang "Singing the Motherland", I felt the true feelings of the people of Liuxiang in Yuen Long who loved the country and Hong Kong, and I couldn't help but burst into tears.

Flag-raising ceremony

My name is Shen Haojie, I am a native of Yuen Long, and I am also the chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Yuen Long Six Townships Celebration Committee. The reason why I want to hold this event is to let more people understand the history of the party and the country, especially the relationship between the party and the New Territories in Hong Kong. Many Hong Kong people do not know that Hong Kong and the Chinese Communist Party have always had close ties. After the founding of the Communist Party of China in 1921, many early leaders came to Hong Kong and developed party members and carried out party propaganda work in Hong Kong, leaving many precious relics. Of course, there is also the well-known and thrilling "Hong Kong Rescue".

Because of this, in addition to the "100 Families Gathering to Celebrate the Centenary" event on July 1, we also organized two major activities in the early stage. First, together with the villagers and guests, they visited the relics related to the Party in Yuen Long, the New Territories and other places, so that everyone could personally feel the real history. Second, a number of parliamentarians and community directors were organized to visit 100 households in Six Townships, Yuen Long, and visited 15 centenarians. During the visit, we not only gave everyone a bag with the logo of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, but also brought a small badge to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Although things are not too valuable, our hearts are sincere and precious, and we hope that everyone will get close to and know the party and the country. This visit and visit also made us gain a lot.

As mentioned earlier, although it has been 24 years since Hong Kong's return to the motherland, I have found that many Hong Kong people actually lack understanding of the Communist Party of China and the country in their hearts. Because of the lack of understanding, there is also a lack of recognition. Under such a reality, some people with ulterior motives will take the opportunity to say bad things about the party and the state, especially to instill similar misconceptions in young people in Hong Kong. This has led some Hong Kong people to use the so-called "freedom" and "democracy" and other shields to do bad things. The "amendment storm" that occurred in 2019 is actually a manifestation.

In the 2019 Hong Kong District Councillors Election, I was one of the few pro-establishment candidates to win. At that time, I was a firm supporter of the government in stopping violence and controlling chaos, and this is no different now. Because, without a stable social environment, how can Hong Kong talk about further development? Originally, compared with many cities in the mainland, Hong Kong has its own unique characteristics and advantages in finance, science and technology, and education. If the social situation cannot be stabilized, the people's hearts cannot be cohesive, and they still dream of anti-China chaos in Hong Kong, Hong Kong's future is bound to be not optimistic. So I think the most core issue now is the question of people's hearts.

Today, we have implemented the Hong Kong National Security Law and improved the election system in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is on a new path of development. But in my opinion, these are relatively hard policies. Hard policies are necessary, but changing the hearts and minds of Hong Kong people also requires soft means – mainly propaganda, education and the influence of traditional Chinese culture. The same is true of this celebration, we are going to let the people of Yuen Long Liuxiang have a better understanding of the party and the country through a series of activities, and guide them to walk on the right path. I believe that as long as the people's hearts and minds are solved, many things in Hong Kong will come to fruition. I wish Hong Kong and the motherland a better tomorrow.
