A team of researchers from the non-profit organization Ocean Exploration Trust discovered a rare creature commonly known as the "piggy squid" at Palmyra Atoll, 1,385 meters underwater. It looks translucent, small and round, with a face like a pig's nose siphon, tentacles on the head, and a pair of large black eyes, looking like a pig and a deer.

The scientific name of the "piglet squid" is Helicocranchia pfefferi, belonging to the octopus family, which regulates buoyancy mainly through an inner cavity filled with ammonia.
In addition to the cute appearance of the "pig squid", the nose is round like a "pig's nose", and the antennae on the top of the head are messy, looking like "a messy hair", and some people jokingly call it a reindeer-like antler.
Research teams from the nonprofit Ocean Exploration Trust use remotely operated submersibles (ROVs) to explore the deep sea in the waters off Hawaii.
