In the end, the top two teams Australia and Japan won their places in the obstacle course team at the Paris Olympics.

There are a total of 75 places in the equestrian show jumping event at Paris 2024, with Middle Eastern hosts France automatically occupying one team qualification (i.e. 3 places). The other quotas consist of 20 group qualifications (i.e. 60 places) and 12 individual places. Each country can only send a maximum of one team or one individual to the competition. Team places are generated by: the top five national teams in the show jumping competition at the 2022 FEI World Championships (Sweden, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany), the highest ranked national team (Belgium) in the 2022 FIMA Nations Cup Finals (all qualified teams are removed as described below), and the highest ranked national team at the 2023 FEI European Championship (played in September this year), The two teams that won Group C of the IFM Paris Showjumping Team Qualification Group (played at the end of July, mainly from Central European countries), the top three teams at the 2023 Pan American Games (played in October), the two teams that won Group F (Saudi Arabia, UAE), the two teams that won Group G (Australia, Japan) in the Team Qualifiers, and the highest-ranked team in the 2023 FIMA Nations Cup Finals (in October). Group G, where the Chinese team is located, includes countries from East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania. The competition for Group G team qualification at this Olympic Games is very fierce, because the traditional strong teams Australia and New Zealand have not qualified in advance through the above other channels, and the Japanese team is no longer the host and returns to this group to compete. Therefore, the teams from Hong Kong and Taipei who participated in the qualification round before the Tokyo Olympics thought that there was little hope and did not register for this competition. Since the Chinese team does not participate in other possible qualifying competitions such as the National Cup, it can only qualify for the Paris Olympic team if they finish in the top two places in this competition. In the end, the Chinese team also directly missed the obstacle course competition at the Paris Olympics.
