While announcing Messi's official arrival, Miami International also announced that Messi will make his debut on July 21. However, Messi will play in the League Cup, not Major League League.

The League Cup is a new tournament featuring 47 clubs from Major League Soccer and League Mexican. From 21 July to 19 August, 47 clubs will compete in the League Cup for three places in the 2024 AFC Champions League (equivalent to the Champions League and AFC Champions League).

It is worth mentioning that in the history of the US Champions Cup, only two major league teams, Los Angeles Galaxy (2000) and Washington United (1998), have won the championship.

Internacional Miami will play Blue Cross Mexico in its League Cup opener on 21 July and Atalanta United on 25 July. According to the schedule, the top two teams in the group will advance to the knockout rounds, while the 30 teams that have advanced through the group stage and the champions of the two leagues last season will play in the knockout rounds.

Given Internacional's poor performance in the major leagues (18 points in 21 rounds are bottom of the East, 16 points less than Orlando City, which is ranked seventh), with the help of Messi and Sergio Busquets, the League Cup may be a great opportunity for Internacional Miami to get a ticket to the Championship.

If Messi plays magically, Internacional Miami could even hope to win the League Cup. If he can win the championship on September 19, it will not only be Messi's first title for Miami International, but also the first title in the history of Miami Internacional only 5 years old, and the 44th title won by Messi in his career, thus surpassing Alves and becoming the player with the most titles in history.
