On July 12, Beijing time, the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships began the first day of the final competition.
In the women's 4x100m relay final, the Chinese team composed of Liang Xiaojing, Wei Yongli, Yuan Qiqi and Ge Manqi won the championship with a time of 43.35 seconds, winning the first gold medal for China in this Asian Championships.
In the men's 4x100m relay final, the Chinese team composed of Wu Zhiqiang, Xie Zhenye, Chen Jiapeng and Chen Guanfeng won the runner-up in 38.87 seconds, and the championship was won by the Thai team with a time of 38.55 seconds.
In the women's javelin throw final, China's Liu Shiying finished second with 61.51 meters, while another Chinese athlete, Gu Xinjie, finished fifth. Japan's Shina Saito won the championship with a score of 61.67 meters.
In the women's triple jump final, China's Zeng Rui finished second with a score of 14.01 meters.
In addition, in the women's 1500m final, China's Xu Shuangshuang ranked fourth with a time of 4:18.84.
