Pochitli Bridge is the tallest, largest span and most difficult bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is also the key project of the Pan-European 5C corridor Pochiteli to Zverovich, with a total length of 945 meters and a width of 21.92 meters, which is undertaken by the Power Construction Municipal Corporation of PowerChina. The breakthrough of the main structure of the Pochteli Bridge marks another key milestone in the project.
The superstructure of the bridge adopts variable section prestressed continuous box girder, and the substructure adopts polygonal hollow piers with different thickness and variable section, which are single-width two-way four lanes in a curved shape, and are completed by hanging basket cantilever construction.
The Pochteli Bridge is the first bridge built by a Chinese company in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is also the first time that a Chinese enterprise has carried out third-party cooperation with the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the completion of the bridge, it will significantly improve the traffic situation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, greatly increase the speed of communication between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian port of Ploče, help promote the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, strengthen exchanges and ties between the region and the EU, and help strengthen economic and trade exchanges and connectivity in the entire Balkan region.
