The reporter came to Zhengding 4th Road

Listen to 61-year-old Li Qian tell her story

In the summer of 2010, Li Qian's daughter graduated from college and the family traveled to Tianjin.

At that time, Li Qian had a friend who was a doctor in Tianjin. When everyone met, Li Qian mentioned that there was a small lump on her chest. A friend who has been practicing medicine for many years is very sensitive, and urged Li Qian on the spot to hurry to the hospital for an examination.

Li Qian immediately had a test in a hospital in Tianjin, and the results came out: breast cancer. This news was like a thunderbolt on a sunny day, which made Li Qian's good mood of traveling disappear. That evening, Li Qian returned to Qingdao. She couldn't figure it out at first, how could she get this disease? "I didn't expect that I could lose more than ten pounds in three days." Li Qian sighed.

With the encouragement and comfort of family and friends, Li Qian, then 48, figured it out and had to face it bravely: she received radiation and chemotherapy. She has not forgotten that on the sixteenth day of chemotherapy, she began to lose a lot of hair after having long hair, and had to cut her hair.

"It was a very uncomfortable feeling." Li Qian sighed that after undergoing more than 40 chemotherapy and radiotherapy and undergoing surgery, Li Qian gritted her teeth and survived. But just as his body slowly recovered, his husband, who had been by his side, also fell ill.

Her daughter graduated from college and found a job, but the old age she had hoped for was tested one after another. Seeing her mother sad, Li Qian's daughter quit her job in Beijing and returned to Qingdao - in her daughter's eyes, nothing is more important than being by her parents' side and taking care of each other as a family.

This precious family affection has been favored by fate: Li Qian and her husband's health is getting better day by day, and her daughter has also started a new career in Qingdao. At this time, Li Qian felt that she had to do something more meaningful.

During her recovery from illness, Li Qian joined the Anti-Cancer Association, where she actively participated in various patient activities, encouraging each other and wishing each other an early exit from the haze of illness. With the recovery of her body, Li Qian has a new idea - to bring sunshine and health to more people, especially the elderly. By chance, Li Qian found that Qingdao has a group of enthusiastic volunteers who serve others and respect the elderly, and Li Qian, who makes bun crafts, resolutely joined the volunteer team.

In 2018, Li Qian volunteered at a public welfare canteen on Huaiyang Road. The noodles are well mixed, the filling is also well adjusted, and the buns made by Li Qian are widely praised. In the spring of 2021, Li Qian was invited to cook at the "Yinian Rishan Hall" on Zhengding 4th Road in Licang District. Since then, every Tuesday at 8 a.m., Li Qian, the rotating store manager, leads the volunteers into the kitchen to get dressed and get busy.

On July 11, the reporter saw in the kitchen of "Yinian Rishan Hall" that in a large pot with a diameter of more than 1 meter, radish, tofu, onions, vermicelli, and pickled eggplants were diced and combined with scrambled eggs, shiitake mushroom paste, and sesame oil, and quickly became fragrant bun stuffing under Li Qian's careful preparation. Later, Li Qian and the volunteers wrapped the filling in dough, made it into buns, and placed it on a tray to push into the steamer.

"I am very happy to see the old people eating deliciously." Li Qian told reporters that in the past five years as a volunteer, she has wrapped more than 30,000 fragrant buns for the elderly.

In Li Qian's life, buns are not just food, but carry a family affection.

Li Qiangang remembers that at that time, her grandmother often made buns at home. The white noodle fragrance mixed with the aroma of minced meat made Li Qian, who was less than 10 years old, remember it in her heart. After middle school, Li Qian proposed to learn to make buns, and her grandmother readily agreed: she unreservedly taught her the practice of noodles, stuffing, and buns.

"At that time, my grandmother was afraid that I would not look good when I grew up, so that I could find a good mother-in-law as soon as possible in the future, which taught me to pack buns." Remembering when she was a child, Li Qian showed a smile on her face. After growing up, Li Qian became the main force of buns: the buns she wrapped soon became a "reserved program" for family dinners.

After growing up, Li Qian and her two younger brothers formed their own families. Despite this, the two younger brothers have never forgotten the taste of the buns made by their sister. The little brother and sister opened a driving school, Li Qian knew that the little brother liked to eat buns, and often went to the canteen of the driving school to wrap the buns and let the little brother and sister take them home...

The old man, and the old man

now

Li Qian's grandmother and parents have died

But she hasn't forgotten how they ate buns

Because of this

Li Qian volunteers in the canteen every time

will wrap hundreds of buns at once:

She wants to use buns for the old people to experience

There are people who are always thinking about their happiness
