Recently, Meta launched a developer feature called "Super Resolution", which effectively improves the image quality of the Quest device app. The developer blog notes that the super resolution feature is available for applications built on Quest v55 and later systems. "This is a VR-optimized edge-aware scaling and sharpening algorithm based on the Snapdragon gaming super-resolution feature and Quest-specific performance optimizations developed by the Qualcomm graphics team." Meta further explained that super resolution as an alternative, it can exchange lower performance costs for better upgrades. "Super Resolution is a single-channel spatial amplification and sharpening technique optimized to run on Quest devices that uses edge and contrast-aware filtering to preserve and enhance detail in fovea areas while minimizing vignetting and artifacts."
Microsoft launched CoDi, an artificial intelligence model that interacts and generates multimodal content
Microsoft recently launched a unique artificial intelligence model called Composable Diffusion Model (CoDi), a unique, composable diffusion-based artificial intelligence model designed to interact and generate multimodal content. Microsoft designed CoDi to address the limitations of traditional single-modal AI models. Taking synchronous video and audio as an example, there may be inconsistencies and alignment issues when stitching together independently generated streams. CoDi employs a unique composable generation strategy that aligns multimodalities during diffusion to generate interleaved patterns, and CoDi is capable of processing arbitrary input patterns and generating content of any modality. CoDi was developed by the Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services research team in collaboration with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is part of the Microsoft project i-Code, which uses artificial intelligence to enhance human-computer interaction.
Japan's Fukui Prefecture to introduce "XR bus" next summer

FourPlus will develop MR platforms for the healthcare industry
UK-based immersive technology company FourPlus announced that it has received £1 million (approximately 9.3 million yuan) funding from Innovate UK, the UK's national innovation agency, to develop Holosphere, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, a multi-person mixed-reality experience for training people in cells and genetics, biomedicine and the wider life sciences. The platform will also help store digital training records, integrate data analysis tools, and enable trainer and trainee collaboration in a virtual environment.
