The biggest highlight of Liu Cheng's sports career was winning the men's doubles world championship, and at the 2017 World Championships, he and Zhang Nan teamed up to defeat the crowd, becoming the third pair of Chinese players to win the men's doubles world championship after Li Yongbo/Tian Bingyi and Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng.
