On the morning of July 3, the "2023 China-Arab Youth Friendship Ambassador Program and Peking University-Middle East Youth Dialogue Forum" hosted by Peking University and the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Beijing. At present, China is committed to energy transformation and clean development, focusing on building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system. At the same time, Arab countries are also actively seeking energy transition, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and other Arab countries have proposed economic reform and transformation plans, aiming to reduce dependence on traditional energy, develop clean and renewable energy, and achieve sustainable economic development. Energy cooperation is an important part of the China-Arab strategic partnership and the new pattern of bilateral cooperation, and how to achieve more mutual benefit and win-win results in renewable energy, green transportation, energy conservation and emission reduction is a hot topic in this forum.

Focusing on the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, Malone Malon, director of the Lebanon-China Friendship and Cooperation Federation, pointed out that solving the current problem of unbalanced regional development and achieving green and sustainable development need to rely on Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions. "The cooperation model and development concept proposed by China under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative provide important references and references for other countries. It is hoped that China-Lebanon cooperation will be further strengthened, and new ways to solve regional development imbalances and promote green development will be jointly explored, so as to achieve the goal of common prosperity and sustainable development. ”
Marlon Malone said in an interview with reporters that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is a great initiative, which not only promotes the economic development of Arab countries, but also helps Arab countries accelerate the transformation of green energy. It is hoped that China can fully consider and make use of the geographical characteristics of Arab countries to help establish and improve photovoltaic and wind power generation systems and green transportation systems.
"In my home country, Lebanon, for example, we experience about 12 hours or more of power outages a day. Happily, China is helping Lebanon solve its power problems, such as building a power plant based on a solar system for Lebanon through partnerships, and some institutions also providing free solar panels to local factories and residents. Marlon Malone told reporters that by jointly building the "Belt and Road", Arab countries can use China's industrial strength to build large-scale green power factories and hydrogen farms.
Yahya Saleh, a Palestinian businessman and executive secretary general of the Palestinian-Chinese Friendship Association, told reporters that China is the current global leader in green energy, and Arab countries should learn from China how to achieve green energy transformation. "Building the Belt and Road with China is a key choice for Arab countries to move towards energy transition, and it is also something we must do."
Tian Lei, deputy director of the Energy Institute of the China Academy of Macroeconomic Research, stressed that China, as the world's largest manufacturer of renewable energy equipment, has an outstanding position under the current trend of low-carbon, electrification, digitalization and intelligence. The economies of China and Argentina are highly complementary in these fields, and the cooperation between the two sides in renewable energy, clean technology and green economy will inject new impetus into the common development of the two sides, bringing more opportunities and prospects for common development.
Xu Yan, deputy director of the Asian-African Department of the All-China Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, stressed in his concluding speech that green and low-carbon international cooperation is of great significance. China's current great concern for green development is not only reflected in the Foreign Relations Law of the People's Republic of China on active participation in global environmental and climate governance, but also in China-Arab cooperation in infrastructure, energy, green finance and other fields.
