The competition was hosted by the People's Government of Shanxi Province, organized by the Sports Bureau of Shanxi Province, the People's Government of Datong Municipality and the People's Government of Shuozhou Municipality, and co-organized by Datong Sports Bureau and Pingcheng District People's Government. Taiyuan, Datong, Changzhi, Jincheng, Yangquan, Lüliang and Linfen sent more than 160 athletes, coaches and team leaders to participate in the competition.
The competition is divided into three categories according to age: A, B and C. Group A consists of men's and women's individual singles full wheel and 70m elimination, and mixed team 70m elimination. Group B consists of men's and women's individual singles full wheel and single-round all-around teams, men's and women's individual 60m ranking and elimination, men's and women's team 60m elimination, and mixed team 60m elimination. Group C is divided into two age groups, U14 and U12, Group C U14 events are men's and women's individual single-round all-around and single-round all-around team, men's and women's individual 40m double wheel, men's and women's individual and team 30m elimination, mixed team 30m elimination, Group C U12 events are men's and women's individual single-round and individual 18m elimination, men's and women's team 18m elimination, mixed team 18m elimination.

Archery is a traditional advantage of our province, in the seventies and eighties of the last century, the Shanxi archery team from scratch, starting with the "flat bow", the men's team has won the national double-round team championship for 12 consecutive years and 20 times, and the men's archery team in the 2023 National Archery Championship won the national championship again after 35 years. In the 90s of last century, the women's archery team in our province rose, and so far it has won a total of 1 silver medal in the Olympic Games, 2 gold medals, 6 medals and more than 50 national championships in the National Games.
