Wang Xiqin, President of Tsinghua University, Zhang Lu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Honorary Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Tsinghua University, Wu Jianping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dean of the Institute of Network Research of Tsinghua University and Director of Zhongguancun Laboratory, Zhang Yaoxue, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Tsinghua University, Jin Li, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Qinghai Province, and Shi Yuanchun, President of Qinghai University, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was presided over by Jia Jia, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University. Professor Tang Jie of the Department of Computer Science was appointed as the director of the research center, Huang Minlie and Liu Zhiyuan of the Department of Computer Science were appointed as the deputy directors of the research center, and Sun Maosong, executive deputy director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Tsinghua University, was appointed as the chief scientist of the research center.

Wang Xiqin expressed his gratitude to all the faculty and staff who participated in the planning, design, organization and preparation of the research center.
He pointed out that the basic model is crucial to the development of general artificial intelligence, and the establishment of a research center for the world's scientific and technological frontiers aims to promote organized scientific research and discipline development in related fields.
It is hoped that the research center can strengthen overall planning and actively explore innovative governance models. In his speech, Wu Jianping reviewed the course of Tsinghua artificial intelligence scholars represented by Academician Zhang Cymbal who have been struggling for decades and leading the artificial intelligence discipline of Tsinghua University to the forefront of the world.
