Known for its ability to engage in natural conversations and answer a variety of questions, ChatGPT recently took on a compelling new role – officiating weddings. Last week, AI Software hosted the wedding of Reese Wiench and Durton Truitt from Colorado.
The groom, Truit, said their decision was significant and stressed that in their case, as long as both parties agreed, there was no need for a human emcee. The innovative idea of using an artificial (AI) emcee was proposed by the bride's father, Stephen Wiench, who saw it as an easier and more cost-effective option. To personalize the ceremony, both families provided the chatbot with specific details and phrases, such as thanking guests who attended, especially those who came from afar.
Initially, the AI tool was hesitant to accept the role, admitting: Sorry, I can't do it. I have no eyes, I don't have a body, I can't show up and officiate at your wedding. However, through a voice app, chatbots resounded throughout the venue, introducing the special event and warmly welcoming attendees.
