During the Jiaqing period, a beggar was frozen to death on the street, and when people found him, they found that he was covered in snow, opened all his clothes, and found that there was nothing to prove his identity.
The beggar's body was very dirty, but there was a desperate poem written on a blank piece of paper, and after the local villagers reported it to the official office, the government sent people to check this desperate poem, and they were ashamed of themselves.
This desperate poem was that the poets placed in the Jiaqing period could not write such tragic and rhyming poems, which made the civil officials of the Manchu Dynasty feel ashamed of themselves.
"He is like a gull on the water, and he carries a bamboo cane through Nanzhou." This is the first sentence of the poem, and this first sentence points out his own life, and his own life is like a water gull.
Water gulls first appeared in Du Fu's poem "What is fluttering, heaven and earth are a sand gull", this poem means that now wandering everywhere, what do you want? It's just a lonely sand gull between heaven and earth.
So what Shao represents is a bird with no fixed place to live, birds have wings and can go wherever they want, but this is also the loneliest thing in life.
But this beggar himself has no companions, nor can he be with other people, he is just the loneliest bird in this world, and this first half of the sentence points out his loneliness.
The second half of the sentence "bamboo battle" first appeared in Su Shi's "bamboo cane mango shoes light victory over horses, who is afraid of a smoke and rain in his life", this sentence means that a person with a crutch made of bamboo, wearing a pair of straw shoes, walking faster than a war horse.
These are small things, and what is there to be afraid of? If you wear a gown and let the wind and rain blow, you can still live a life.
The second half of the sentence shows that the beggar author has the same dashing as Su Shi, he can walk through Nanzhou with a bamboo cane, he can walk far with simple things, even if there is nothing valuable on his body, this life is also very dashing.
Through this incident, we can know that this beggar has a high cultural literacy, and quotes the verses of Su Shi and Du Fu in just one poem, and may have been a wealthy child before he wandered.
The phrase "The rice bag is in full bloom in the evening, and the song board sings Xiaoqiu in the wind" is the second line in the poem, and the second sentence begins to express his own business situation.
The beggar author has nothing of value in him, let alone something that makes him happy, so when he lives in poverty, he can only find new pleasures in life for himself.
With the rice bowl you begged for, when the moon ended, this remnant could fall into your own bowl, and you could enjoy the most beautiful moon in the world.
He also sang his favorite song against the wind, and when he felt temperamental, he could have wood hitting the rice bowl to make music, and he and this moon, plus singing, are the happiest combination in this world.
Although he lives poorly, he can find joy in life for himself, which also expresses the open-mindedness of a beggar.
02 Interpret verses
The phrase "two kicks over the dust world, one shoulder picks up the ancient and modern worries" is the third sentence of the whole text, and he begins to express his dissatisfaction with this world, and he wants to use his own kick to turn over the world.
A beggar has such a great momentum, because he can't get used to the world, so he wants to kick away these mundane worlds with his own feet, and he doesn't want to be bound by these worldly things anymore.
These disturbances and loves and hatreds have been deeply experienced by himself, and he can feel these with his own shoulders, and he can bear them completely, but these sorrows can never be bound.
There are many hungry people in the world who suffer like him, and he does not want others to bear it, he can bear it for them with his shoulders.
A beggar can have such determination and courage, it seems that this group of beggars was not an ordinary person when he was alive
"And now if you don't eat and eat, why should the yellow dog bark endlessly" is the fourth sentence of the whole text, and the ending further shows the arrogance of the beggar author.
Although the beggar lives on the street, he still has a proud existence, and although he has a low status, he will not eat the food thrown at him by others.
The yellow dog may represent some royal power and wealth with a relatively high status, and the beggar wants to say that he is already like this, and those who are all more powerful people, why shout at him?
The last sentence may also mean that the beggar is about to die, or it may be harmed to this point by these royal and wealthy figures, and now that he is going to die, why should those villains do anything to hurt him?
After listening to this poem that I don't know who the author is, I can't help but wonder what kind of life this beggar has experienced, whether it is the prosperity of flowers or cooking oil with fire, or has experienced the heat of the world?
The whole poem expresses the beggar demeanor and his spirit of sacrificing his life for righteousness, and he recognizes that one person bears these things, and he does not want others to bear it with him.
You must know that during the Jiaqing year, many beggars fell into the streets, they did not have enough clothes and food, and the imperial court did not want to solve these things, but wanted to beat these beggars to death.
The beggar who wrote this poem saw all this in his eyes, and he wanted to bear it alone, and he did not want the imperial court to beat all the beggars to death.
Since he has escaped from this worldly rules and untied the shackles placed on himself, there is no need to be bound by the imperial court, why can't he live happily and freely?
He would rather starve to death in the street than be with these people in the imperial court, and he was extremely happy to sing alone in the street and be with the residual moon, at least he did not lose his faith.
In the society at that time, this beggar author could abandon anything, official position, status, clothing, food were all things outside his body, but in the imperial court, many things were against his will, he was unwilling to do so, so he could only become a beggar.
People like beggars were not a minority in society at that time, and there were many people who could not be with the imperial court, and they were unwilling to do things that hurt the people, so they returned to their hometowns.
These people abandoned the worldly and chose the faith they thought they held the most, and their approach was admirable.
