On the evening of June 27, Beijing time, in the men's 100m final of the National Athletics Championships and Asian Games Trials held in Shenyang, Asian flyer Xie Zhenye won the championship in 10.09 seconds (+0.7), unfortunately failed to meet the criteria for directly entering this year's World Championships. Former Chinese men's long jump star Shi Yuhao ran 10.18 seconds to finish second in tonight's race, while Guangdong's post-00s newcomer Chen Guanfeng finished third in 10.21 seconds.

Xie Zhenye is the holder of the men's 200m 19.88 seconds, and in the 2019 season, he also ran three top three Chinese flyers seasons in 10.01 seconds, 10.03 seconds and 10.04 seconds. Xie Zhenye's best time in the 100 meters in the 2020 season was only 10.31 seconds in September of that year at the Shaoxing National Championship. In the 2021 Olympic year, Xie Zhenye's personal best time in 10.10 meters was 10.10 seconds. Last year, Xie Zhenye's personal best time in the 100m was 10.23 seconds.

In March, Xie Zhenye won the Hurricane Track and Field Invitational in Miami, USA, with a time of 10.05 seconds (+2.0), a personal best in four years. After returning to China recently, Xie Zhenye's biggest goal is to open the 10-second mark and directly meet the men's 100m requirements at the World Championships in Budapest.

In this morning's heats, Xie Zhenye ran 10.13 seconds (-0.8) to rank first in the overall heats. Chen Guanfeng, who had just trained directly with Su Bingtian's team, equalled his season best time in 10.22 seconds, ranking second in the heats, while Jilin's Chen Jiapeng was third in the heats with 10.26 seconds, and the closing line for advancing to the final was 10.36 seconds.

Tonight's 100-meter flying man battle was played under the condition of tailwind +0.7 m/s, and although Xie Zhenye won the championship in 10.09 seconds, he failed to run 10 seconds to reach the expected goal. The 24-year-old former long jumper Shi Yuhao finished second in 10.18 seconds, setting his personal best in 10.18 meters, after a personal best of 10.28 seconds in Bulle, Switzerland, last July. Post-00s rising star Chen Guanfeng finished third in 10.21 seconds.

In tonight's women's 100m final, veteran Wei Yongli won in 11.42 seconds (+0.4), Ge Manqi was second in 11.44 seconds, Yuan Qiqi was third in 11.45 seconds, and Liang Xiaojing was fifth in 11.53 seconds.
