Over the weekend, Bethesda's support department tweeted that the physical version of Starfield would not contain discs, saying in response to customer inquiries: "All physical versions contain download codes for selected platforms. There is no physical disc".
Just a day after Bethesda said the physical version of Starfield didn't include discs, a reappearing post on the company's website further hinted at something else — at least for Xbox users.
After days of confusion and conflicting statements, Bethesda has now confirmed to the media the details of the recently updated Starfield pre-order rewards page to clarify the inclusion of discs in the physical release of some versions of the game, and now the information on the page is correct.
So its last words on the matter seem to be, as you will see, that the Xbox Physical Standard Edition of Starfield will include discs, but the Physical Standard Edition of PC will not contain discs, but will contain digital download codes for the game. At the same time, all physical versions of the Constellation Edition will contain only one digital download code.
Starfield will be released on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
