2023 is the 2,300th anniversary of the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan's self-sinking in Huaisha, Miluojiang. On the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival this year, Hunan held the 2023 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival and a series of activities to commemorate the 2,300th anniversary of Qu Yuan's death in the Miluo and Qu Yuan management areas of Yueyang.
The theme of this event is "Patriotic Quest for Civilization Inheritance", aiming to explore the excellent traditional culture represented by the spirit of Qu Yuan and help the construction of modern civilization of the Chinese nation.

Hunan Daily, New Hunan Client, June 21 (Reporter Zhang Xuan, Guo Liliang, correspondent Song Zhengjun, Luo Jiao) Dragon Boat Festival praised Qu Yuan and forged a patriotic soul together. This morning, the opening of Hebotan Quzi Memorial Park and the 2300th anniversary of Qu Yuan's death were solemnly held in Yueyang Quyuan Management Area, aiming to inherit Qu Yuan's patriotic spirit and carry forward the Dragon Boat Boat folk culture.
Qiu Hong, member of the Standing Committee of the Yueyang Municipal Party Committee and director of the United Front Work Department, announced the opening of the park. Participating leaders and guests took the stage to jointly launch the opening ceremony. Literati and scholars from all walks of life, Qu scholars, news media representatives, and young students at home and abroad participated in the event.
Carry forward the folk customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, reminisce about the soul and sing Qu Yuan. At 9:30, the bright sun was shining, the flag hunting, and the activity kicked off with the rousing and high-pitched sound of Chinese drums. The secretary of the party committee of Qu Yuan Management District delivered a welcome speech to the KLA. He sincerely invites all guests and tourists to come to Qu Yuan to take a walk and take a look, here to admire the ancestor of poetry, inherit the cultural context, visit ancient sites, self-cultivation, visit rivers and lakes, watch swans, and personally feel the unique charm of Qu Yuan's hometown, dragon boat hometown, Luo Guo's former capital, and Miyue's former residence.
Hebotan Quzi Memorial Park is located in Hebotan Village, Fenghuang Township, Quyuan Management District, Yueyang City, which is the birthplace of Quyuan culture, where the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan threw himself into the river. The park covers a total area of about 80,000 square meters, the water surface area is about 1.31 million square meters, the shoreline length is about 8.3Km, along the banks of the Pingjiang River to the east and west, the main building is mainly "one hall, one hall, two corridors, three squares and five scenic spots", is a collection of commemoration, parade, gathering, leisure and entertainment, cultural exchanges in one of the large-scale activity places.
Afterwards, the commemorative ceremony began. After the sound of drumming, accompanied by melodious and solemn ancient ceremonial music, according to the singing order of the dedication official, the first dedication official, the second dedication official, and the final dedication official respectively made three offerings, Han Shaogong, honorary chairman of the Hainan Provincial Federation of Literature and Culture and a famous writer, took the stage to burn incense and lay wine, and Xiong Yuqun, deputy director of the Prose Committee of the China Writers Association and winner of the Lu Xun Literature Award, read the original text of the ode to Qu. Finally, everyone stood up and paid homage to Qu Yuan.
The commemorative event also integrated the interpretation of water folklore, in the form of a combination of "song, music and dance", leading the audience to experience a spiritual dialogue across time and space. Four cultural celebrities, including Jia Yi, Sima Qian, Su Shi and Ruan Fu, appeared on the stage to praise Qu Yuan's majestic personality of "competing with the sun and the moon" and his patriotic spirit of "not regretting even though he died nine times"; Performances such as historical salvage scene reproduction, intangible cultural heritage soul call, fisherman mountain song and other performances restore the source culture of the Dragon Boat Festival, carry forward the spirit of Qu Yuan, find the root and identity in the sense of ritual, strengthen cultural self-confidence, and let Chinese culture show its permanent charm and style of the times.
Make friendly friendships, from "beginning" to "end" through the ages. Qu Yuan was born in Zigui and threw himself into the river in Hebotan, in order to remember the poet's worries about the country and the people, and inherit the spirit of seeking from top to bottom, on the occasion of the 2300th anniversary festival, Qu Yuan Village in Zigui County and Hebotan Village in Qu Yuan Management Area reached a friendly friendship of "watching the ages from 'beginning' to 'end', helping Qu Yuan's spirit to be passed on through the ages.
During the Dragon Boat Festival, the Hebotan Quzi Memorial Garden is lit up, and tourists at home and abroad are in an endless stream. A Chufeng Temple Festival consisting of the Dragon Boat Folk Market, Food Market, Cultural and Creative Market, Folk Performance, and Fireworks Show is in full swing, allowing visitors to play from day to night and experience the "fireworks on earth" in Hebotan in Quyuan Management Area. It is reported that more than 20,000 people have visited the temple fair to eat, drink and have fun.
