"Sing for the times" people

——Reading Liu Dunjie's collection of essays "Apricot Altar Picking Up The English - Cutting Literary Love" has a feeling

Liu Haizhou

Liu Dunjie, a rural teacher, graduated from the private teacher class of Yishui Normal School in the 1990s, and although we were teachers and students of the same school, Dunjie and I did not really know each other for a long time, and we only met after we were hired as "consultants" of the Party History (History) Center of the Yishui County CPC Committee in the spring of 2019. After acquaintance, they are in agreement, and they have the regret of seeing each other and hating each other late, probably because we have a lot in common, right? First, we are all descendants of Han Gao's ancestors who sang "The Song of the Great Wind", proudly speaking, we all have the blood of the Emperor of Han (skimmers can go to verify); second, we are all people's teachers, and we all have the experience of private teachers; third, we are all straightforward personalities, not good at twisting and turning; fourth, we are all literature lovers, and we like to write small articles in our spare time... This makes us feel sorry for each other, and there are many topics that cannot be talked about. Recently he published a collection of articles he had written over the years, and I naturally read them "for the first time" near the water tower, although some articles had been read on the Internet platform before, but this time I read books that emitted the fragrance of paper and ink, or when I read them, I often covered up the contemplation and thought about the impulse to express many emotions.

First of all, as a rural teacher, Liu Dunjie has a "constantly cutting literary love" which is a very gratifying thing. Because as a teacher, especially a Language teacher, loving literature and loving writing is a necessary condition for an excellent teacher! Language teaching is often summarized as "listening, speaking, reading and writing" four words, listening and reading are the means of language training, speaking and writing are the purpose of training. As the saying goes, "Striking iron requires its own hardness", in order to guide students' composition well, Chinese teachers must be able to write by themselves! Otherwise, the "dry duck" who can't use water will become a swimming coach, and it is needless to say what the result is. But in fact, most of the primary and secondary school Chinese teachers can't write and don't love literature! Including many "famous teachers" in the classroom gushing, spitting out lotus flowers, but can not write a decent article! As Mr. Mao Zhicheng, a late professor (also a famous writer) of Capital Normal University, criticized: "There are words in the mouth, but no writing in the pen" can only be regarded as a "half-tone" teacher. Under such circumstances, Liu Dunjie has worked tirelessly for many years and published a collection of essays, the significance of which is not simply to contribute a book to the literary world, but to bring a good start and set an example for the vast number of language teachers.

People who sing for the times

(Liu Dunjie)

Many people like to use the word "feelings" to evaluate a person, feelings are not innate, nor are they instilled, feelings are cultivated by literature and art. "Literati" and "feelings" are twin brothers.

If the above feelings are a bit off-topic, the following book is returned to the right biography, talk about my feelings after reading Liu Dunjie's book.

People who sing for the times

In the book, the author has divided five albums of his own, each with a subtitle. But these subtitles are too artistic to see what the specific content is written about, I use blunt language to summarize, all the articles are roughly divided into these five aspects: one is to praise the backbone of celebrities in the cause of education; the second is to excavate local red materials; the third is to record interesting people (including relatives) and things in the hometown; the fourth is to record the friendship of friends and friends; and the fifth is to travel to the mountains and rivers of the motherland. Among these five parts, I think the most valuable part is the part that excavates the red cultural resources, and the part that is most brilliantly written is the strange people and wonders among the villagers in their hometown.

As we all know, Yishui is a big county of red cultural resources, and many major events related to the overall situation of the province and even the whole country during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression occurred in Yishui. In the early 1980s, the Party History Office of the Yishui County CPC Committee made a comprehensive and systematic excavation and sorting out of the party history, including sending personnel to all parts of the country to interview old comrades who had worked in Yishui and those who participated in the revolution in the early days of Yishui, and hiring witnesses and insiders of major events to write memoirs, thus leaving very precious materials for the history of the Yishui Party and the history of revolutionary struggle. However, since then, there has been no systematic excavation and collation, and the last excavation cannot be collected.

(Red Merchant Plum Monk)

I also like red culture very much, but I only read it, not to dig up new historical materials, because today's excavation of red culture is more difficult than panning for gold in the sand, you need to find clues, contact insiders, run here and there to interview, sometimes busy for a few days may not find anything. Liu Dunjie, however, dragged a sick leg with extremely inconvenient mobility, and in the past few years, he has dug up and sorted out more than ten valuable new historical materials, enriching the results of the study of the history of the Yishui Party. For example, the stories of the "Xuefeng School for the Children of Cadres" and the "School for the Children of Central China Cadres" studying and recuperating in Yishui; the deeds of the three Xu brothers in Panchigou Village who participated in the revolution in the early years are not recorded in the party history and literature and historical materials originally published by the Party History Office of the county party committee and the county CPPCC Committee. These two primary schools of cadres of our party lived in Dakuangzhuang and Quanzhuang villages in the west of the city for more than four months, and they came here because this was the revolutionary base area and the safest place, and later because the Kuomintang focused on attacking the old revolutionary areas of Yimeng in Shandong, the two primary schools were forced to move elsewhere. This incident is not big, and it is not small to say small. These small soldiers are the future of the country, the flame of the revolution, and many of the small soldiers who lived here in those years became provincial and ministerial officials, and one of them later became a deputy state leader. As far as the history of the county party is concerned, it should be regarded as a relatively important historical material. Under the guidance of Li Guanyi, the head of the early Party organization in Yishui, the three Xu brothers successively joined the revolution and took their own home as the contact point for our party. In 1940, Xu Yuanrun and Xu Yuanfeng were arrested by traitors and later killed by the Japanese gendarmerie stationed in Yishuicheng. Among the three brothers, only Xu Yuangang ushered in the birth of New China. Because Xu's descendants did not keep the correspondence between their ancestors and the responsible persons of the party organization and other supporting materials, the two relatives killed by the Japanese army were not posthumously recognized as martyrs, and their deeds were naturally not included in the history of the party. Through a large number of visits to Xu's descendants and insiders, Liu Dunjie restored the excruciating struggle experience of the three Xu brothers for the birth and death of the revolution, so that their contribution to the revolutionary cause was made known to the world.

People who sing for the times

In the original historical materials, people and things are only occasionally mentioned but not comprehensive, and Teacher Dun Jie has also excavated and supplemented a lot, such as the early entrepreneur Of Yishui, who made great contributions to the revolutionary cause, Hu Mei Monk, who once sewed 36,000 sets of military uniforms for the Eighth Route Army and donated 2,000 sets of materials, and he and his children also helped the Luzhong Military Region to build a quilt factory, a bullet factory, and a flour processing factory. The monk is recorded only as a businessman in the Yishui Commercial Chronicle and the Yishui County Chronicle, and the great contributions he and his family made to our Party are not recorded in other historical books except in the book "Memoirs of Military Quartermaster Production 1927-1949" published by the General Logistics Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Liu Dunjie's excavation is undoubtedly a useful supplement to the literary and historical materials. Another example is Liu Dunxing, who was recorded in the "Mass Daily" and later various party history books, but all the records are thick lines and the same, Liu Dunjie's in-depth interview, supplemented by many touching details.

In the five parts of the book, my favorite is the part that writes about strange people and strange things in my hometown. Such as "Second Uncle Liu Deng", "Uncle Drunk", "Playmate "Yang Laosan", etc., the story is interesting, the plot is tortuous, the characters are vivid, and they are about to come out, although it is a memorable prose, it is as unbearable as reading a novel, and it cannot bear to release the volume for a long time. In particular, the image of "Uncle Drunkard" can be compared with Mr. Lu Xun's Kong Yiji and Ah Q, but lu Xun's characters are fictional literary images, and Liu Dunjie's wine epileptic uncles are real people. Uncle Drunkard sang and cursed the street after drinking, but he only scolded bad people, never scolded good people. He pretends to be crazy with wine, strengthens his courage with wine, and uses wine as a weapon to fight against the bad guys in the village. He said he was drunk, but he knew right from wrong; he said he wasn't drunk, but he was talking gibberish and lying drunk on the street. He seems to be drunk, true or false, making it difficult for people to distinguish his true face. Borrowing alcohol to pretend to be epilepsy is his way of survival, his unique way of fighting, his self-protection, and his helpless choice. On the outside, he is an alcoholic, a crazy person, but in fact he is the embodiment of justice, a good man! Liu Dunjie used his divine pen to write this character to life!

Literature is anthropology, and no matter what kind of article you write, you can't do without writing people.

People who sing for the times

(Qilu Principal Zhang Zhaosheng)

In addition to writing about the villagers with characteristics in his hometown, Dun Jie also wrote about some high-achieving educators and other industry leaders.

People who sing for the times

(Special Teacher Zhang Zaijun)

For different characters, Dun Jie uses different writing methods, showing his superb control of different objects of expression and different styles. When writing about his friends Zhang Zaijun, Zhang Zhaosheng and Liu Jingquan, a fellow scientist in this village, he focused on their respective life pursuits and struggles, highlighting their contributions in their respective fields, the structure was laid out, the writing was meticulous, the language was rigorous, and Zang was not appropriate. When writing about foreign literary friends, it mainly records the process of their acquaintance, highlights the friendship between them, and the words are full of warmth and touching.

People who sing for the times

(Liu Jingquan, the world's top scientist)

Throughout the book, whether it is a writing of people's memories, or a work of self-remembrance or travel records, it is a real person's real thing with a true disposition, no wind and snow, no disease-free groaning sentences, and even more unpretentious twisting, reflecting the realist creative spirit of "articles are written for the times, and poetry is written for things" (Bai JuYi). Although the language of some articles is not concise enough, and even the individual sentences are not standardized enough, this does not affect that this book has become a good book worth reading, a good book to promote the regional culture of the hometown, and a good book full of positive energy.

I remember once asking him at a small gathering: "It is unrealistic to make a fortune by becoming famous by writing, your legs and feet are not convenient, why do you have to run around to write an article?" Dun Jie listened to it for a while, and then said to me seriously: "We are in such a good era, there are so many touching people and things happening around, I can't help but want to use my bald pen to record it, this is also a song for the times!"

People who sing for the times

"Song for the Times"! This is not only the purpose of Liu Dunjie's writing, but also the value of this book!
