On June 09, 2023, the Hengyang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized 11 large-scale oxygenated fish fry transport vehicles to drive into Yangjiaping Wharf at Liangjiangkou to carry out artificial release.
This time, 30 groups of parental bighead carp, 30 groups of silver carp, 20 groups of grass carp and 10 groups of blue carp were released, with a total of 14.75 million fry released, including more than 11 million bighead carp, grass carp, silver carp and blue carp over 3 cm. There are more than 3.7 million bighead carp, grass carp, silver carp and blue carp over 10 cm.
The staff of the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said: The water flow in this water area is gentle, the water temperature is suitable, and the new fry are easy to adapt to the water environment here, and the survival rate is high. Through artificial breeding and release, the fish population of the Xiangjiang River can be effectively replenished and restored, aquatic biological species can be increased, water biodiversity can be improved, and the coordinated development of fishery environment and ecological environment can be realized.
The seeds of the "four big fish" for breeding and releasing were purchased from the Hengyang City Aquatic Biological Species Supply Qualification Unit publicly announced by the Fishery Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the "Intelligent Fishery Technology" comprehensive information service platform in accordance with the requirements of the Implementation Plan for the Proliferation of Aquatic Organisms in Natural Waters of Hunan Province in 2023.
