Due to the defects of intermittency and volatility, photovoltaic can not exist independently in the power grid, and only when the energy storage industry develops to a certain extent or supplemented by other energy sources can it achieve alternative conventional energy. The combined energy storage of "photovoltaic + energy storage" will become the direction of the future energy revolution.

Under the guidance of the implementation plan of energy storage development of Hubei Provincial Energy Bureau, Xiantao City adapts measures to local conditions, coordinates and adheres to both centralized and distributed development, accelerates the adjustment and optimization of energy structure, and promotes the development of the whole industrial chain such as wind power, photovoltaic, and energy storage.

The 50MW/100MWh centralized (shared) energy storage power station project in Guohe Town, Xiantao City, Guohua is located in Guohe Town, Xiantao City, Hubei Province, and is a supporting project with the 325MW photovoltaic project complementary to the fishery and solar in the same area. A total of 20 energy storage units are set up in the whole station, and the continuous discharge time under the rated power is not less than 2h, and the power station is connected to the 35KV side of the booster station of the photovoltaic power station in Guohe Town with two 35KV lines, and the sending distance is about 0.1Km. Sanwang Communications built an energy storage data monitoring system by digital means in this project to help the project achieve refined, efficient, transparent and intelligent management.

The project adopts the combination mode of "photovoltaic + energy storage", photovoltaic power generation adopts fishery-solar complementary mode, photovoltaic panels are installed on fish ponds and wetlands, which puts forward higher requirements for personnel safety and equipment safety, and due to the water surface environment, the accessibility of photovoltaic panel cleaning and inspection is poor, which brings certain challenges to operation and maintenance. When the photovoltaic power generation mode is blocked, on the one hand, it will rely more on the emergency and transition role of energy storage power stations; On the other hand, it will further affect the energy storage process of energy storage power station, thereby affecting the safe operation and efficiency optimization of the entire power grid system. In summary, monitoring and managing the energy storage system to ensure its stable operation is the focus of industrial construction.

Trivia supplement

The first step in the photovoltaic energy storage process is the collection of solar energy, which is usually achieved by installing solar panels (i.e. photovoltaic panels).

The second step is the storage of electrical energy, and the inverter converts direct current into alternating current for storage, which is released when it is needed.

Sanwang Communication adopts SW-Ring ring network according to the specific conditions of the project. In the single control ring network, the overall status information of the battery such as BMS and PCS is uploaded to the core control network through the IES7110-2GS ring network, and once the thermal effect management event occurs in the battery, the control information can be issued control instructions through the control network. In the dual information ring network, the main front end uses IES318 to connect the battery compartment, PCS, and meter, and longitudinal encryption equipment is placed in the middle to prevent information leakage, and then uploaded to the core information network through the ring network composed of IES716-2GS to complete the real-time transmission of information data.

Advantages of the scheme:

  • The devices comply with the IEC 62443 industrial control product security standard, built-in a number of security functions, through user authentication, setting the IP list allowed to access, and device configuration and management based on HTTPS and TLS v1.2 protocol security, etc., to fully protect communication equipment from illegal access.

After the completion of the project, it will effectively alleviate the pressure of power supply and reduce local energy consumption and carbon emissions, which will play a huge role in promoting the win-win situation of "photovoltaic + energy storage" power generation and rural revitalization, and promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the regional economy.
