On the evening of September 9, Zhou Quan, a well-known public welfare person and founder of Kunming's "Heart Lantern Cinema" (formerly known as "Mind Cinema"), triggered a warm response among students from the Department of Journalism and Communication of the School of Arts and Media of Kunming University of Science and Technology with an online lecture entitled "My Road to Public Welfare".
Since 2017, Zhou Quan has personally told or organized more than 130 movies for the visually impaired, with a total of more than 3,800 "listening/audience" people present, training and leading more than 1,600 service volunteers for the visually impaired, and the "HeartLight Cinema" has inspired a number of caring enterprises. In addition to helping the blind in the form of "screening + telling", Zhou Quan has organized visually impaired people to travel to Beijing and overseas to "feast" the world with his ears.
After introducing the original intention of the "Heart Lamp Cinema" and the origin of the Zhou family, and the construction process of the theater so far, Zhou Quan demonstrated the "unscripted film" technique for the teachers and students and listeners, aiming at the characteristics of visually impaired people who know and understand the world through hearing, and vividly presented the classic scene of "Feather Flying" at the beginning of "Forrest Gump" in a language that describes figurative and detailed details.
Earnest and witty, Zhou Quan talked about his adherence to the original intention and the prevention of public welfare, talked about the concept of "we are not the same, we are all the same", talked about the interpersonal communication with the visually impaired, talked about the "hearing barrier - let the 'heart lamp theater' in your ears" vision supplemented by scientific and technological means, talked about empathy, compassionate to lay the blueprint of "blind path".
At the same time, it answered the questions of teachers and students about the difference between movies and radio dramas for the visually impaired, what conditions should be available for participating in public welfare projects for the disabled, and the operation plan of the "HeartLight Cinema" in the post-epidemic background, in addition to the renewal of concepts and the popularization of common sense, ignited the willingness of young students to "give back to the society and give people roses".
