The "Suining International Poetry Week" will be held in the hometown of tang dynasty poet Chen Ziang

On the morning of October 10, the press conference of "Suining International Poetry Week and Poetry Journal 2020 Chen Ziang Poetry Award AwardIng Activity" jointly organized by the Chinese Writers Association "Poetry Journal" Agency, the Cpc Suining Municipal Party Committee and the Suining Municipal People's Government was held in Beijing. The event was presided over by Li Shaojun, editor-in-chief of poetry magazine.

Suining City, Sichuan Province, an important town in Sichuan Province, is a place where Bashu cultures meet and integrate, and has bred a number of talents such as Chen Ziang, Wang Zhuo, Huang E, Zhang Wentao, etc., and has the reputation of "guanyin hometown" and "state of wenxian". Chen Ziang, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, was a native of Shehong City, Suining, Sichuan, and "Reading the Heavens and The Earth Is Leisurely and Lonely But Weeping" is his most famous verse. His poetic language is simple and robust, sweeping away the mesmerizing sound of Qi Liang Palace's body poetry, undertaking the generous and tragic voice of Han and Wei, opening up the poetic style of the Tang Dynasty, which has had a profound impact on the Chinese literary circle for thousands of years, and is known as "a generation of Wenzong". Suining International Poetry Week & Poetry Journal's 2020 Chen Ziang Poetry Award, with the theme of "Poetry China • Centennial Journey", is scheduled to be held in Suining Shehong City from October 19 to 21, 2021, and will carry out award-giving activities, conference discussions, style creation, immersion experience and other activities.

It is reported that the annual poetry award of "Poetry Journal" is approved by the China Writers Association and sponsored by the "Poetry Journal" Agency, and has been held since 2002 and is held once a year. It was established to inherit and develop traditional Chinese culture and promote the progressive development of poetry. In 2015, after consultation between Suining and the Poetry Journal, it was decided that from 2016, the annual poetry award of the Poetry Journal would be named after Chen Ziang, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty, and the first cooperation period would be held for 5 consecutive sessions.

Ji Di Majia, secretary of the Secretary of the Party Group and vice chairman of the China Writers Association, summed up Chen Ziang's contribution and status in the history of Chinese poetry in his speech, he said that the annual poetry award of the "Poetry Journal" named after Chen Ziang is to inherit the spiritual hard core of the pioneers to open up a generation of poetry styles and innovate the spirit of the old, especially standing at the historical intersection of the "two hundred years" goal and walking on the road of national rejuvenation, the poetry of the new era should also be the first to open up new styles, and hope that Suining International Poetry Week is not only a grand event for poets. It is also a festival of the people, and it is necessary to make the poetry festival grounded and really enter the public's life.

At the press conference, Zhang Feng, member of the Standing Committee of the Suining Municipal Party Committee and vice mayor, introduced the economic, social and cultural development of Suining, and Deng Xianyong, secretary of the Party Committee of the Suining Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, introduced the preparations for the Awarding Activity of the Suining International Poetry Week and the Poetry Journal's 2020 Chen Ziang Poetry Award.
