This German fairytale route is almost equally well known – after all, it is dedicated to two famous German figures and their world-famous story: the Brothers Grimm. The route is 600 km long and stretches from the Main to the sea. It began in Hanau, the birthplace of the brothers.
Every May, the Brothers Grimm Festival takes place near Phillipsruhe Castle. The route continues through the cozy student town of Marburg, where the brothers studied, to Kassel, where the museum commemorates their work, and ends with maritime Bremerhaven, in the north.
In between are fairytale trails and barefoot trails, charming castles, picturesque villages and landscapes, but above all many fairy tales.
Visitors can explore the world of the Brothers Grimm on the German Fairy Tale Route and create their own fairytale adventure, a route that runs from their birthplace of Hanau to more than 600 kilometers from Bremen, home to the famous four-legged town musician
