Everyone knows that as the location of Kunming Zoo, it is the childhood memory of every Kunming person. Moreover, Yuantong Mountain is a witness of Yunnan's history, and there are many cultural relics on the mountain, telling the story of Yunnan's past. And Dabuji is a remote mountain village in Zhaojiadian Township, Dayao County, Chuxiong Prefecture, and almost no one has heard of this place, so how are the two connected?

Those who have been to Yuantong Mountain will have the impression that there is a stone archway on the southeast, southeast and west sides of the highest place. All three torii are four-pillared and three-door, the same shape and size, and were built between 1934 and 1937. Among them, Li Yutang (1847-1924) was represented by Li Yutang (1847-1924), who made combat achievements during the reign of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, and gradually rose to the rank of general soldier, registered with the rank of governor, and awarded the name of Hualing Zhenyong Baturu. On June 28, the 34th year of Guangxu (1907), he was appointed governor of Guizhou by decree, and after the Xinhai Revolution, Li Yutang returned to his hometown, Dayao.

In Dafuji Village, Zhaojiadian Town, Dayao County, Yunnan Province, which is blocked by mountains, there is a large mansion that seems to be as luxurious as a palace to the villagers, known locally as the "Li Family Courtyard". This large mansion, which once dominated the mountains with luxury, was no less beautiful even in a bustling downtown area, has aged its former appearance in the relentless passage of time, but the residual charm remains. A decaying mansion that encapsulates the history of the rise and fall of a prominent family.

After Li Yutang returned to his hometown, he collected more than 1,000 mu of land rent from tenants and set up a money house to lend money. In this way, the small village of Tathoji built a grand Li family compound, the large mansion is built according to the mountain situation, staggered, unique, composed of three courtyards and 12 houses, with shadow walls in front, the building is a civil structure of three floors, five beams, hard mountain green tile roof, the back eaves wall is a hard hilltop, the entire compound is west to east, the layout is regular and rigorous. The main room of the first courtyard of the courtyard is 16.6 meters wide for four rooms and 6.55 meters deep for three rooms. The main room of the second courtyard is 14.6 meters wide for four rooms and 7.8 meters deep for three rooms. The courtyard is relatively independent and interconnected, forming an organic whole.

In 1924, Li Yutang died of illness at home, and the family's fortune soon passed to his grandson Li Boheng (1889-1951). Li Boheng, the character Shenxiu, on the archway of Yuantong Mountain there is "Sun Shenxiu, great-grandson... Gongjian". Li Boheng was a deputy to the National Congress who served as the county magistrate of many counties in Yunnan, and was the richest man and well-known politician in Dayao at that time. Li Boheng and his people are not careful to repair at all, compared with Li Yutang, the grandfather of Lifang Jingbiao, who is respected by the villagers, Li Boheng is arrogant and domineering, and the local people are miserable.

Li Boheng not only brutally exploited the peasants, but also committed a little-known behind-the-scenes murderous business, that is, he snitched on Long Yun, chairman of Yunnan Province of the Kuomintang, and killed Zhao Zuochuan, a fellow villager of Dayao and secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Special Committee of the Communist Party of China. After liberation, under the leadership of the Communist Party, the masses of the people who were brutally persecuted by Li Boheng accused Li Boheng of his bloody crimes, and in 1951 Li Boheng was sentenced to death by public trial.

"The hairpin of the prince, the decline of the third generation", the times and the fate of the family have quietly changed over time, and the Dayao Li family is no exception. Li Yutang started the family inheritance, and in the generation of his grandson Li Boheng, because of the changes of the times, and because of his people's wealth and unkindness, fish and meat people and ruined their lives, only the mansion in Dabuji Village deep in the mountains still faintly reveals the afterglow of a bit of wealth!
