He Jin dictatorship: In 189 AD, the Han Ling Emperor died. As a result, the foreign clique represented by the great general He Jin formed a confrontation with the eunuch clique such as the Ten Standing Attendants. In the end, the Ten Constant Attendants conspired to kill He Jin.
On September 22, 189, Emperor Shao of Han's maternal uncle, the foreign general He Jin, entered the Changle Palace with a conspiracy plan to meet his sister Empress He.
He entered the palace for only one purpose, that is, to persuade Empress He to kill the twelve eunuchs left by Emperor Ling, such as Zhang Rang and Zhao Zhong. However, the result was unexpected by everyone, and He Jin was killed by the Ten Constant Attendants.
It is no wonder, because since Yuan Shao, a lieutenant of the Chinese Military Academy, suggested that He Jin kill all the eunuchs, he had been hesitant and planned for so long that the matter had already been leaked.

On this day, as soon as He Jin entered the door of Changle Palace, the eunuchs opened their vigilant pores.
They told each other and talked about it: Why did the great general, who had been ill and refused to come to the funeral of the former emperor, suddenly appear in the palace? Was it to force eunuchs to follow the precedent of eunuchs destroying Dou Wu and Empress Dowager Dou during emperor Huan's time?
Therefore, Zhang Rang sent someone to eavesdrop on the conversation between He Jin's brothers and sisters, and learned that they were really plotting how to replace the eunuchs.
This forced Zhang Rang and others to make up their minds to fight to the death. They led dozens of their henchmen, armed with weapons, to sneak in through the side door and ambush under the temple door. After He entered and came out, he falsely passed on the will of the Empress dowager and led him into the temple.
At this moment, He Jin did not take these rats in his eyes, because there were yuan shao, Yuan Shu and other large armies waiting outside the palace gate, so that these eunuchs did not dare to act rashly.
He Jin had great trust in these generals outside the palace, because Yuan Shao was a member of the "Four Dynasties and Three Dukes" clan of the Yuan clan in Runan. As a representative of the scholar group, he has always been the most staunch group against the eunuch dictatorship. With Yuan Shao's family prestige, it was easy to destroy the eunuchs.
Moreover, at this time, He Jin had already followed Yuan Shao's advice and led the Liangzhou general Dong Zhuo into Beijing to fight against the Ten Constant Attendants.
It can be said that He Jin believes that he is now ten to nine, so he is assured and bold to walk into the trap set by the enemy.
When He Jin walked into the palace and sat down, Zhang Rang and others began to rebuke him: Is the chaos in the world all the sins of our eunuchs?
At this moment, Zhang Rang did not want to make a big deal out of it, and wanted to exchange a low posture or even a tone of beg for forgiveness in exchange for a change in He Jin's attitude.
As he was speaking, a eunuch rushed out and killed He Jin with a knife. In the panic, Zhang Rang, Duan Jue, and others wrote a false edict claiming that General He Jin had been executed for plotting rebellion with his troops.
For a time, Zhonglang led Yuan Shu and others like a flood that opened the floodgates, led his troops to break through the palace gate, and began to fight with the yellow gate with weapons. At dusk, Yuan Shu ordered his men to set fire to the Green Lock Gate of the Southern Palace, hoping to threaten the palace to hand over Zhang Rang and other eunuch leaders.
At this moment, the palace is also in chaos. Zhang Rang lied to Empress He, claiming that He Jin's men had rebelled and set fire to the palace gates. He coerced Empress He, the Young Emperor Liu Jie, and Liu Xie, the Prince of Chenliu, to flee from the secret passage to the Northern Palace.
However, the most group of people could not withstand the pursuit of Yuan Shao's strong soldiers. Yuan Shao ordered the gate of the Northern Palace to be closed and began to send troops to arrest the eunuchs. More than 2,000 people, young and old, were killed, and some were even killed by mistake because they were young and had no beards.
In this way, Yuan Shao led an army to sweep the palace ban. In the panic, Zhang Rang and Duan Jue fled on foot to Xiaopingjin with Liu Jie, Liu Xie, and dozens of others, followed only by officials Min Gong and others.
After nightfall, they reached the bank of the Yellow River, and Min Gong, who was really angry, rebuked Zhang Rang and the others for causing trouble, shouting: Now that you don't break it yourself, I will kill you with my own hands.
As a result, Min Gong stabbed several eunuchs to death with a sword in his hand. Zhang Rang was shocked and frightened, and finally threw himself into the river and died after bidding farewell to the Young Emperor.
In this way, the Rebellion of the Ten Constant Attendants ended, but it led to a larger disaster. Dong Zhuo, who had come from Liangzhou to fight against the Ten Constant Attendants, although he entered the palace one step late, Dong Zhuo, who had good luck and strength, took the lead in finding Liu's descendants: Liu Wei and Liu Xie.
This led to the later history of Dong Zhuo deposing the Young Emperor and Yuan Shao, Cao Cao and other Kwantung princes rebelling against Dong Zhuo.
outcome
The scourge caused by the killing of He Jin by the Ten Constant Attendants finally ended the dispute between foreign relatives and eunuchs in the Han Dynasty after nearly a hundred years. At the same time, it also allowed all the princes to rise together, and the Han Dynasty existed in name only, opening the Three Kingdoms Era.
